Cloth – a verb
editA relatively recent slang term in cricket is to "cloth" the ball, for a mistimed lofted shot. I'm having much difficulty trying to find the origin, which I presume is from another sport but I'm blowed if I can imagine which. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Peter Gabriel Calder (talk • contribs) 06:11, 18 February 2022 (UTC)
England cap
editThe photo illustrating an England cap seems actually to be of the baseball-cap type used in derivative games like T20 the hundred. Bibliosporias (talk) 19:25, 19 August 2023 (UTC)
Drop
editCan someone please add definition no.4 to "Drop" as - the position of a batsman in the lineup after the 2 openers. 1st drop is batsman #3 (immediately next to take his place at the crease), 2nd drop batsman #4 and so-on down the lineup.
I cant seem to be able to edit the entry. 2001:8003:E11D:600:9582:8395:AC8F:9621 (talk) 10:52, 4 December 2023 (UTC)
- That usage is already covered in definition 2 of 'drop'. Modest Genius talk 14:47, 4 December 2023 (UTC)
