editRemoved: "This last murder was particularly shocking at the time because of Garnier's intention of eating of the boy on a Friday in defiance of the Catholic doctrine against eating meat on that day." I'm pretty sure that this is not the thing that made eating children particularly shocking. Oddly enough, it goes against Catholic doctrine on any day of the week. 213.94.229.173 (talk) 12:15, 18 September 2009 (UTC)
Note: The name of the article is "Gilles Garnier" (Giles with two L's) and throughout the entire article he is referred to as "Giles" (only one L) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.227.247.146 (talk) 00:38, 14 December 2009 (UTC)
1573 or 1574?
editThe lead and infobox both date his death 1574, but the article text says 1573 which to me (without checking through links, etc) seems to fit better with his attacks being dated to late 1572. Idontcareanymore (talk) 23:36, 19 January 2014 (UTC)
His wife
editThe article say he murdered to provide his wife with food. What happened to her? Was she also executed?--Aciram (talk) 00:04, 10 February 2017 (UTC)
