Nicknames
editI've never heard anyone call Jeff Green "Big Mean" or "The Green Genius". Can we get some citations?
I also added a little information about the centennial celebration, and as soon as I get some time I'll try to write a 100 year history summary or something...

Rivalries
editI grew up living and dying Syracuse basketball, and I think that for this page to be complete, there should be more discussion of the early years of the Big East and how important rivalries between GU and Syracuse ("Manley Field House is officially closed" as uttered by John Thompson) and Villanova (1985 title game) and St. John's led to the growth of the Big East and Georgetown's dominance of it. This was Georgetown's heyday and it's an important part of college basketball history during the 1980s. 74.71.85.196 22:13, 27 February 2007 (UTC)bsj
I'll get to this when I can and try to include that--those years were before my time but are clearly one of the most significant periods of the hoyas history--hopefully someone can help me out in that area from hoyatalk where they've actually documented that period pretty extensively--otherwise, i'll try to fill it in but it'll be gradual as I don't have that much time (I was the one who tried to fix up the esh years bit).

Esherick Years Edit
editI'll try to edit this page when I get a chance. I changed and added a little about the Esherick years as the section seemed a little unorganized, vague and didn't really read like an encyclopedic source should. I also took out a number of POV statements (though I didn't get to all of them). —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.188.246.45 (talk) 23:43, 6 October 2008 (UTC)
Table of Draft Picks
editThe "pick" number for some players seems to list the overall selection number in the draft and for others the selection number within the round they were picked. I know the pick numbers for Summers and Ewing, Jr., for example, are the numbers overall; but for guys like Ralph Dalton, noted as picked in the seventh round and as pick number three, it seems clear that the pick number is the number within the round they were selected.
Anyone have any ideas about how to clean this up? —Feis-Kontrol (talk) 16:16, 14 June 2010 (UTC)
- I got around to it today, and now the list includes both the round, pick in that round, and the overall number. I've also moved it to a separate article, similar to some other schools' style, at List of Georgetown Hoyas in the NBA and WNBA Drafts. Look good?-- Patrick, oѺ∞ 18:36, 12 March 2013 (UTC)
Eastern Intercollegiate Conference/League confusion
editThe article previously stated that Georgetown was a member of the Eastern Intercollegiate Basketball League, the precursor to the Ivy League, during the 1930s.
This is incorrect. Georgetown instead was a member of the similarly named but entirely separate Eastern Intercollegiate Conference during its existence from 1932–9. This is noted in the citation that was already present and is confirmed by references such as sports-reference.com; it is also clear from consulting any history of the EIBL that that league only ever included the present members of the Ivy League.

- Ah, thanks, I found that quite confusing!-- Patrick, oѺ∞ 23:21, 12 March 2011 (UTC)
