editGatorade Shower also known as the Gatorade Bath is a practice celebrated by most American football teams after a victory. New York Giants Hall Of Famer Harry Carson is famous for starting the tradition when he frequently showered his coach Bill Parcells. The Gatorade Shower has become a staple of many big games since then. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.82.9.59 (talk • contribs)
Phil Simms
editI know from reading this article that the Super Bowl XXI MVP was doused with ice water (though not Gatorade) after his impressive showing, but should this get at least a minor mention? WAVY 10 17:24, 20 August 2007 (UTC)
I was surprised to see that this article did not mention the death of legendary coach George Allen from the after-effects of a Gatorade bath. Somebody more familiar with the facts please add this. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 207.237.208.220 (talk) 04:04, 20 September 2011 (UTC)
Bet on colour or flavour
editApparently you can bet on the colour or flavour of the Gatorade shower-has anyone got any statistics on different colours or flavours used? 84.13.62.160 (talk) 09:41, 2 March 2010 (UTC) Back again, I've found these statistics for 2010 on Betus.com. I'm not sure how fixed they are for this year-or even if it has occured-maybe they should be added to the article? Blue 10-1, Clear/Water 3/2, lime green 6/1, orange 5/1, red 10/1, yellow 10/13. 84.13.62.160 (talk) 10:01, 2 March 2010 (UTC)
Start of the Tradition
editIt's pretty well documented that the Bears dunked Ditka in the 1984 season as it's actually shown in a NFL films documentary about that season. However, the Giants may have been first anyway on October 28, 1984 as this video purports. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SkqrPxxi0F4 — Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.255.4.59 (talk) 17:40, 4 February 2013 (UTC)
Germany
editIs the German tradition (especially common in Bavaria with Weißbier, as the record champion of soccer is from Bavaria it happens a lot) of "Bierusche" (=Beer-shower) noteworthy enough to be added to this article? For quite some time now teams have engaged in showering their coaches or fellow players with beer after the last game(s) of the season have gone in their favor (i.e. avoiding relegation or clenching the championship) pics: http://www.google.de/imgres?client=ubuntu&hs=cqs&sa=X&channel=fs&biw=1366&bih=619&tbm=isch&tbnid=gTaADWCyPx9flM:&imgrefurl=http://www.spiegel.de/fotostrecke/dfb-pokal-bierdusche-fuer-koenig-jupp-heynckes-fotostrecke-97436-3.html&docid=QqfjThvXvxcEKM&imgurl=http://cdn3.spiegel.de/images/image-503036-galleryV9-ekzo.jpg&w=850&h=644&ei=ZaAvUqGRGMWVswauuoDwDg&zoom=1&iact=hc&vpx=435&vpy=311&dur=41&hovh=195&hovw=258&tx=75&ty=191&page=1&tbnh=144&tbnw=219&start=0&ndsp=18&ved=1t:429,r:14,s:0,i:130 http://www.google.de/imgres?client=ubuntu&hs=cqs&sa=X&channel=fs&biw=1366&bih=619&tbm=isch&tbnid=qSJr8SXzWXS_VM:&imgrefurl=http://blog.pixum.de/index.php/foto-des-monats-juli-sie-wahlen-den-sieger/&docid=bidMYLuWb9P3AM&imgurl=http://blog.pixum.de/wp-content/web/fdm/fdm_juli07_abstimmung/bierdusche.jpg&w=500&h=333&ei=ZaAvUqGRGMWVswauuoDwDg&zoom=1&iact=rc&dur=470&page=2&tbnh=143&tbnw=219&start=18&ndsp=24&ved=1t:429,r:21,s:0,i:157&tx=131&ty=55 http://www.google.de/imgres?client=ubuntu&hs=cqs&sa=X&channel=fs&biw=1366&bih=619&tbm=isch&tbnid=6uym24EafTuxFM:&imgrefurl=http://www.bundesliga.de/de/liga2/news/2012/0000253111.php&docid=IJGNhduzNM9DaM&imgurl=http://media.bundesliga.de/media/images/00_imported_692/dsc_bierdusche_kraemer_920_th.jpg&w=692&h=389&ei=ZaAvUqGRGMWVswauuoDwDg&zoom=1&iact=hc&vpx=580&vpy=338&dur=3690&hovh=168&hovw=300&tx=143&ty=126&page=2&tbnh=138&tbnw=245&start=18&ndsp=24&ved=1t:429,r:39,s:0,i:211 http://www.google.de/imgres?client=ubuntu&hs=cqs&sa=X&channel=fs&biw=1366&bih=619&tbm=isch&tbnid=IxmgsZXkI5Y02M:&imgrefurl=http://www.memegen.de/meme/ng9az3&docid=JFU0P0hiPX1kdM&imgurl=http://m.memegen.com/ng9az3.jpg&w=650&h=561&ei=ZaAvUqGRGMWVswauuoDwDg&zoom=1&iact=hc&vpx=939&vpy=183&dur=887&hovh=209&hovw=242&tx=144&ty=106&page=3&tbnh=151&tbnw=167&start=42&ndsp=25&ved=1t:429,r:65,s:0,i:289 — Preceding unsigned comment added by 141.30.210.129 (talk) 22:44, 10 September 2013 (UTC)
