I'm a little uncertain as to the grounds for deletion of this page, but I'll try my best to lend an opposing argument in the meantime. From what I have seen previously, ice hockey player articles are normally deleted for a lack of notability. However, as Garet Hunt has already begun playing hockey professionally, he does, in fact, meet the notability requirements for an athlete. The speedy deletion template at the beginning of the article states that it "does not indicate the importance or significance of the subject." I cannot find any reason why this might be the case, as this article follows the standard template for ice hockey players as outlined by the Ice hockey WikiProject. I think it is clear that the importance and significance of this article is to highlight that he is an ice hockey player competing at a professional level and the path that he has taken to get to that point in his career. I am, however, willing to debate further should the article continue to be perceived as worth of deletion. Orlandkurtenbach (talk) 10:26, 23 November 2008 (UTC)Reply
