Gobo and his Uncle "Travelling" Matt are both named after special effects technologies: the gobo and the travelling matte respectively. But does anybody know why? --Paul A 09:00, 20 Jan 2005 (UTC)

Thats the eternal mystery of Fraggle Rock. Could the words of the theme song also be included please?

I'm pretty sure the Doozers were never portrayed as hating jews, so I'm deleting the statement "Doozers are in a sense anti-semitic." I assume this is someone's joke.

Drug References?

Why is there no mention of it also being drug-related? Lack of resources to suggest it?

I can't remember the episode title, but here is one example. In this episode, a crack opens in the wall of fraggle rock and "magic" water flows out of it. The fraggles try it and it puts them into a bouncy, high energy, psychedelic state. Soon life becomes too hectic in fraggle rock and things get out of control. In addition, the fraggles can’t stop drinking the magic water. In addition, there are ominous rumblings from deep beneath fraggle rock suggesting that something bad will happen. Eventually they close the crack in the wall and normalcy returns. Some one will need to flesh out the details of this episode if it is to be used as an example, since I don't remember all of the details.

Edit: I remember the name of the episode now....it's "Wembley's Wonderful Whoopie Water"

- also, in the episode in season 1 where everyone falls in love with wembley, the havoc surrounding love potion number nine being dropped in the water supply reminds me of the acid section of the drug years. Glitterglue 07:54, 16 January 2007 (UTC)

Fraggle Rawk

Does anybody know that Allister made a punk cover of the theme song called "Fraggle Rawk"?

A few different punk bands have made covers of the theme song... It's got a great beat to it all ready, anyone can have their own fun with it... I think it's a generation thing. Just like posting on random (but great) television shows from the '80s.

Aliens

Traveling Matt and Gobo

I removed the link to Matte (filmmaking) previously attached to the Traveling Matt character. First, while there is a connection between Gobo and Traveling Matt to the film-making processes, noone seems to know what that connection is. Second, the delink is consistent with Gobo not being linked to Gobo (lighting). Third, I think it is confusing when one clicks the link to Traveling Matt and is taken to Matte (filmmaking). The connection is not immediately apparent.

In the future, these possible links between Traveling Matt to Matte (filmmaking) and Gobo to Gobo (lighting) should be probably be handled in a future 'Trivia' section. --- Luis1972 18:13, 21 February 2007 (UTC)

Does anyone else notice that in the postcards Traveling Matt's height changes? like.. sometimes he's the height of a parking meter.. other times he's about the size of a normal fraggle. --68.12.102.184 (talk) 01:34, 8 December 2009 (UTC)

"Travelling matte" is a technique used in film to superimpose a moving character on a moving background. Eg exactly how Uncle Travelling Matt's segments are made! He's green-screened, or travelling-matted, onto footage shot separately. It's a bit of an obscure pun, but since it refers to Matt's own appearances, it might be worth keeping mention in. And yes, a gobo is something you put over a stage light, to affect the light it projects. Gobo's name is not really relevant to his character, but Uncle Matt's name is! It's worth including the link, it's mostly nostalgic adults who'd read this page anyway. I believe there's also a non-travelling, stationary matte used for things that don't move, but this is all history now film's all edited on computers. 94.197.127.53 (talk) 15:28, 7 June 2012 (UTC)

Wembley's Egg

This page is up for deletion. The text is:

"This is an episode of Fraggle Rock in which Wembley finds an egg. The next morning it hatches into a baby tree-creature. He decides to feed it a radish, because Fraggles like radishes. When that doesn't work, Wembley feeds the tree-creature some mashed peas. Then Wembley asks Boober for an artichoke soufflé. Then he runs back to his room, which he shares with Gobo. Boober calls out, "Wait! You forgot the garnish!" The tree creature doesn't like soufflé, but Mokey gives it some seeds to eat."

conflict in year of movie release

- i'm not really qualified to figure out which one's right, but the main fraggle rock article states that the movie will come out in 2007-2008, while the fraggle rock: the movie article states that it will come out in late 2008 or early 2009. presumably the latter is right as it cites its source. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Glitterglue (talk • contribs) 07:57, 16 January 2007 (UTC).

The Muppets Take Manhattan

In the huge wedding scene at the end of the film, various Muppets are seated in the church, including Travelling Matt (and I'm sure there were other Fraggles). Where could I mention that in the main text of this article? --Procrastinatrix 19:29, 31 August 2007 (UTC)

Mokey a Lesbian

Boomerang TV

The articale lists Boomerang TV as one of the original channels to broadcast Fraggle Rock. I don't think that this should be included, since I'm sure Boomerang didn't begin broadcasting until the 2000's. In my opinion, only ITV should be listed for the UK. -- Zestos

Sprocket the dog

In the British version, the lighthouse keeper's dog, Sprocket, looks to be the same puppet and character as the dog in The Storyteller. I'm not sure whether they're intended to be the same character: perhaps somebody who access to some background notes, or who lives close to the Center for Puppetry Arts in Atlanta, could do some detective work... I don't recall any Fraggle Rock episodes dealing with killing Jews. I can't imagine why this line is in there--with a footnote, apparently! Powerdriving Cecil

Powerdriving Cecil, a friend of Red's. Has a peculiar habit of asking female fraggles if they want to be "powerdrived".

This doesn't sound very in-keeping with a children's TV programme, and searching for "Powerdriving Cecil" on Google seems to return results only from sites that mirror or quote this Wikipedia article. However, I am no expert on the subject, so could someone familiar with Fraggle Rock please input with a view to confirming that it is based on fact or removing this misinformation?
