Rivers

edit

Are there any rivers in the Cape verde Islands?? What do the inhabitants do for water??

Name

edit

I read here that the island earned its name from an eruption in 1680. However, there is reference to Fogo burning "amidst an ocean of flying fishes" (which at the very least would seem to signify an island) in a madrigal by Thomas Weelkes, who died in 1623. I suppose that it could refer to another volcano, but it seemed like it fit perfectly until I saw the bit about the island earning its name in 1680. 128.151.139.39 (talk) 00:57, 12 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

My edits

edit

edits today seem radical at first glance. I have simply assembled together relevant sentences within the subheadings, and grouped associated facts within sentences. I have pruned verbiage and used strong forms of verbs. Parallel thoughts get parallel constructions. I am now adjusting the date 1680, which I introduced not seeing that it is contentious. --Wetman (talk) 17:49, 6 January 2014 (UTC)Reply
