There is no mention of original lead singer Alexander O'Neal. When the group began, Morris Day was the group's drummer. When Prince decided O'Neal was asking too many questions about getting paid, Day became lead singer, Jellybean Johnson joined the group on drums, the group was renamed The Time, and O'Neal was left to fend for himself. Which he did nicely with his debut album, with Flyte Tyme members Jimmy Jam, Terry Lewis, and Monte Moir producing; in fact, "Alexander Nevermind," one of Prince's 80s-era production aliases, was triggered by O'Neal's success as a solo artist. The image currently displayed has been modified from its original circa 1977 form; the name of the band in the lower left-hand corner was added in recent years.

The original promo image, including on the margin outside the photograph the Storm Productions logo and original band name spelling, can be found at https://gojohnnygojohnny.wordpress.com/2014/01/23/amazing-artifacts-from-flyte-tymes-early-days — Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.79.178.172 (talk) 04:00, 18 December 2016 (UTC)Reply
