Politics (2nd paragraph)
editThe sentence regarding the borders does not make sense. There were more Germans in the Republic than Slovaks (3.2 million to 2 million) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.34.48.80 (talk) 21:45, 20 November 2017 (UTC)

Czechoslovak Republic (1918–1938) → First Czechoslovak Republic — I propose that the page be renamed First Czechoslovak Republic to conform with Second Czechoslovak Republic. It does not make sense to have both pages use different formats for their titles. First Czechoslovak Republic would be easier to remember than Czechoslovak Republic (1918–1938) and would be easier to type in and search for. McLerristarr (Mclay1) (talk) 02:20, 21 July 2010 (UTC)
- Support Proposal seems logical. As we are forced to disambiguate, this seems a more common term, also. Skinsmoke (talk) 10:18, 21 July 2010 (UTC)
- Support as more usual.--Yopie (talk) 11:25, 21 July 2010 (UTC)
- Comment - I'd just like to point out that there was a discussion on the reverse move in 2006. Although it seems a strange location now, the discussion can still be seen here. I supported the move to Czechoslovak Republic (1918–1938) at that time, but I'm not particularly passionate either way. - TheMightyQuill (talk) 10:39, 23 July 2010 (UTC)
- Comment I think that discussion has been overtaken by events. At the time there was no article on the Second Czechoslovak Republic. There is now. It might make sense to widen this discussion to consider whether History of Czechoslovakia (1945–1948) should be moved to Third Czechoslovak Republic, before any final decision is made. Surely all three should be in the same format, whichever we choose. Skinsmoke (talk) 07:21, 24 July 2010 (UTC)

Eastern Europe?
editI would query the statement in the opening paragraph that states, "After 1933 Czechoslovakia remained the only functioning democracy in eastern Europe as other eastern European states had authoritarian or autocratic regimes leading them" on the basis that it was not until 1945(-ish) that Czechoslovakia was considered to be in Eastern rather than Central Europe (Mitteleuropa). As a result I have amended the statement. Cripipper (talk) 18:23, 31 May 2011 (UTC)
Republika československá
editI propose to mention that the official name of the First Czechoslovak Republic in Czech language was - as far as I can remember - "Republika československá" - similar to "République francaise" (correct spelling with a cédille now not possible), and not the other way round. --Zbrnajsem (talk) 10:08, 17 May 2012 (UTC)
Contemporary map?
editHey, I suggest to put a contemporary map of Europe into the article instead of that one, it will be much better than viewing non existing countries in current Europe. What do you think? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Dakur (talk • contribs) 09:49, 7 March 2014 (UTC)
Athem of Czechoslovakia
editOn article is whrite that Czechoslovak republic had 2 athems but Czechoslovak republic had 1 athem: Kde domov můj a Nad Tatrou sa blýska [Where is my home? and Lightning over the Tatras]. Where is my home? and Lightning over the Tatras was combination Czech and Slovak athem. Dr. Ivan Kučera (talk) 17:08, 11 January 2017 (UTC)
IP comment
editCzechoslovakia was one of the world's 10 most industrialized states. That´s a myth. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2A00:1028:83AC:4586:E063:D145:5686:FB20 (talk) 07:21, 28 April 2020 (UTC)
- Bohemia was one of the first industrialized areas in Europe. There mostly everything happened the first time. Kingdom, Industrialization and so on. And there again the Borderlands had a very high density of industry and also tourism. So if not Czechoslovakia was it, it were the old countries of the Bohemian crown. Or Bohemia, Moravia and Bohemian Silesia. Useless to mention, that the Prussian robbed Silesia was till Maria Theresa also Part of Bohemia. 14:14, 8 March 2024 (UTC)
