edit

I am a paid contributor requesting edits on behalf of Ms. Marchionni.

  • Please remove links #1-5 from lead sentence as they do not address the subject's current role. Propose change to "Federica Marchionni (born December 23, 1971) is a business executive and International Chief Executive Officer and Chief Strategy Officer of Secoo Group"[1]
  • Please replace second sentence of lead with "She is best-known for her time as President of Dolce&Gabbana USA and as CEO of Land's End."[2]
  • Please delete the third sentence of lead "She has lectured at Harvard and Stanford University, and has been a guest speaker at the Milken Global Conference and Fortune MPW Summit" as it is cited with primary sources.
  • Please delete entire Early life section as it is cited using primary sources.
  • Please edit "Marchionni is the first Italian woman to have led an American company listed on Wall Street" in Career section to "In February 2015, Marchionni was hired as CEO of Land's End."[2][3]
  • Please delete the line (Career) "In February 2015, she became CEO of Lands' End, a $1.4 Billion company with approximately 85% of the business in ecommerce, 6,000 employees, and subsidiaries in the UK, Germany, Japan. She spearheaded efforts to transform a legacy company" as it is irrelevant and promotional.
  • Please replace in Career section the sentence "Marchionni worked for over a decade at Dolce&Gabbana headquarters" with "Prior to Land's End, Marchionni worked for over a decade at Dolce&Gabbana and was President of Dolce & Gabbana USA."[2][3][4][5][6][7][8][9]
  • Please edit fourth sentence in Career section, "Before moving to the U.S. Marchionni held a position as SVP at Ferrari supervising the Brand business unit at Ferrari" to "Before moving to the U.S. Marchionni held a position as Senior Vice-President at Ferrari" as the previous sources were primary and the language was convoluted.[10]
  • Please edit the fifth sentence in Career from "Marchionni started her career in the telecommunications industry, working for global players such as Samsung Electronics, Philips Consumer Communications and Ericsson>" to "Prior to her time at Dolce&Gabbana, Marchionni worked for Samsung Electronics, Philips Consumer Communications and Ericsson" as previous sentence contained extra verbiage and was unsourced.[11]
  • Please remove the first two lines under the section Advocacy as they are irrelevant and cited using primary, non-independent sources.
  • Please remove the first line of the third paragraph under Advocacy, "Marchionni has long been dedicated to women's causes.[1][4]", as it constitutes puffery and is cited using primary sources.
  • Please remove "stating on its Facebook page: 'It was never our intention to raise a divisive political or religious issue, so when some of our customers saw the recent promotion that way, we heard them. We sincerely apologize for any offense' in the third paragraph under Advocacy as it is not relevant to the subject, alleged to have been taken from a primary source, and, furthermore, not cited.
  • After editing the immediately preceding line, please change the first two sentences of the third paragraph, "In February 2016, Marchionni interviewed feminist activist Gloria Steinem for the Lands' End catalog and website. After an outcry from customers with pro-life sentiments, the company removed Steinem's interview from the website," to be cited thusly, "In February 2016, Marchionni interviewed feminist activist Gloria Steinem for the Lands' End catalog and website. After an outcry from customers with pro-life sentiments, the company removed Steinem's interview from the website"[12]
  • Please remove reference #22 from third paragraph under Advocacy and replace with the following source:[13]
  • Please delete entire Philanthropy section as it is promotional in nature and cited using primary or non-independent sources.

If the above changes remove all promotional content and satisfy Wikipedia's requirements for neutral point of view, please consider removing the advert tag and reversing page's draft status. Otherwise, please advise how the draft may be further improved to comply with said requirements and be reinstated. Thank you. BizzBozz (talk) 18:51, 13 September 2018 (UTC)Reply

Wrong venue. Please move to WP:AFC

Spintendo How is this not the correct venue? It's still in draft, so it only seems appropriate to be done here. CHRISSYMAD ❯❯❯¯\_(ツ)_/¯ 15:28, 14 September 2018 (UTC)Reply
It's my understanding that only approved articles are open for COI edit requests.[1] As this is an article which has been moved from article status to draft status, it would seem not to apply here. The COI editor states that they wish to "reverse the page's draft status". Guidance suggests that authors try to understand and respond to the reason for moving to draft status and then use the AfC submission process to have the page moved back to mainspace.[2] The author is encouraged to ask other editors questions by using the {{Help me}} template. Thus, I don't see a need for the request edit template to be used when other avenues are suggested first. Please correct me if I'm wrong   Thank you! They were asked specifically to make the requests here and for the sake of allowing an actual editor who follows COI/PAID policy to a T, I think this is perfectly appropriate. CHRISSYMAD ❯❯❯¯\_(ツ)_/¯ 16:15, 14 September 2018 (UTC)Reply
Thank you for you reply. Do you know if this draft version was moved as part of a new page review? Point 4 of WP:DRAFTIFY states that "When the author clearly has a conflict of interest (per WP:COIEDIT)" they are to be "informed that COI editors should submit new articles through Articles for Creation (fourth bullet point of WP:COIEDIT)".[1] You mentioned that "They were asked specifically to make the requests here" do you know why this guidance wasn't followed in this particular case? Thank you!  spintendo  17:37, 14 September 2018 (UTC)Reply
I don't but there is no harm in them requesting edits be made via this method. They are even free to edit themselves as part of the AFC process but obviously this is the best outcome for all. CHRISSYMAD ❯❯❯¯\_(ツ)_/¯ 17:55, 14 September 2018 (UTC)Reply

This draft is left over from an article that was previously deleted. Would it not be the case that the draft, which pre-dates the article in question, should also be deleted? PaulCHebert (talk) 17:40, 14 September 2018 (UTC)Reply
It was deleted as a result of the move to draft space, so no? CHRISSYMAD ❯❯❯¯\_(ツ)_/¯ 17:44, 14 September 2018 (UTC)Reply

   Proceed to WP:AFC

  • An editor has reviewed the requested changes to the draft article and partially implemented the requested edits. Two weeks have passed since those edits were made, and no further contributions have been forthcoming. Thus, the article is now cleared to return asked to proceed to WP:AFC in order to attempt the re-approval process, as per point #4 of WP:DRAFTIFY.[1] Regards,  Spintendo  18:13, 29 September 2018 (UTC)Reply

I've been told that I can implement the remaining changes since the page is in draft status and then submit the page for AfC. This seems to contradict everything I've read about paid contributors directly editing pages. Can you advise me on whether this is true? If not, how do I go about moving the page to AfC again? BizzBozz (talk) 18:41, 24 October 2018 (UTC)Reply

There are 3 main points to be aware of which should hopefully answer your question.

  1. The belief that COI editors are prevented by policy from editing articles they have a conflict of interest over is a myth. COI editors are not forbidden from editing these articles. They are asked to voluntarily refrain from editing articles which are "in mainspace".
  2. While an article is "out of mainspace" (such as a draftified article which was formerly in mainspace), COI editors are encouraged to edit the page as often as they like. As the article will eventually be placed at WP:AFC for review, all of the COI editor's edits are subject to final approval by the reviewing editor.
  3. Please note that a draftified article which has shown only edits by the COI editor over the course of its time "out of mainspace" is not likely to be approved, especially if the elements which caused the article to be draftified in the first place still largely remain in the article. Having only edits by the COI editor shows the reviewer that not much effort was placed into an attempt to rectify the issues which caused the draftification in the first place.
