Synthetic bodies

edit

What are "synthetic bodies" is that the same as wax models?

The source referenced simply says "synthetic bodies". It could be a number of various processes and materials, it's probably plastic or resin. Not actual wax, though, (or resin) because "synthetic" suggests a chemical creation. It may be that some co-called wax figures are not wax, but synthetic. I believe chewing gum is synthetic nowadays. The source referenced also does not present proof of the statement and conflicts with the statement in the following paragraph that states that Kanye did not reveal with were real and which were fake — Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.109.245.147 (talk) 15:40, 21 August 2016 (UTC)Reply

Relevance of image in Music video section

edit

The section covering the song's music video currently includes File:Kanye West Famous Music Video.jpg, a screenshot showing the naked figures depicted in the video. I personally question if the image is encyclopedic and relevant to a reader's understanding, especially as the image is used under fair use instead of a free license. Do we really need to show naked (models of) people laying in bed for readers to understand what that looks like? To me, the existing line that states a camera pass[es] slowly over the naked, lookalike sleeping bodies of famous personalities is sufficient; adding the list of figures from the caption to the prose would cover everything with no need for a fair use image. While I also think there is potential for offense from the image, I recognize that Wikipedia is not censored, but "not censored" does not give special favor to offensive content, and given the possible BLP implications of including naked likenesses, I think there needs to be a very compelling reason for inclusion (which, again, I don't see). I thought about listing the image at FfD, but I'm not familiar with that process, so I thought starting here would be better. RunningTiger123 (talk) 01:13, 25 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

I have opened an FfD for the image; see Wikipedia:Files for discussion/2024 September 6#File:Kanye West Famous Music Video.jpg. RunningTiger123 (talk) 21:06, 6 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
