Cropped image
editA cropped image in portrait ratio has been created from the current landscape ratio one to better fit the restrictions of the infobox. However another editor or group of editors has taken umbrage at this and have reverted this change (as well as trying to revert changes at Commons) and on other wikis. Rather than start an edit war, I'll leave it to other users to decide if the portrait or landscape versions is the most suitable for the infobox. The cropped version of the image can be found in the same cat as the landscape image in Commons. KTo288 (talk) 16:57, 3 September 2008 (UTC)
- Support cropped version. Better focus on the subject. Dengero (talk) 07:17, 4 September 2008 (UTC)
Unnecessary Chinese Name template
editThe template page Template:Chinese name states: "This template may be put at the top of a biographical article to explain to readers unfamiliar with Chinese names which part of a name is the family name." In other words, this template should only be used in articles of persons with names using the traditional Surname-Given Name convention (e.g. Wen Jiabao, Ma Ying-jeou). If the person's name uses a western Given Name-Surname convention (e.g. Jackie Chan, Bruce Lee), there is no such need to "explain to readers unfamiliar with Chinese names which part of a name is the family name". Therefore, I removed this template, which is unnecessary in this case. --supernorton 04:49, 4 November 2010 (UTC)

Requested move 9 August 2015
edit- The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review. No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the move request was: no consensus. Reasonable arguments made by both commenters, no way to split them. Jenks24 (talk) 23:45, 26 August 2015 (UTC)
Fala Chen → Chen Fala – Even though she's an American citizen, all of her career has been in Chinese for Chinese audiences, so I think the surname should come first. See Wang Leehom for example, surname first, and Wang was even born in the U.S. unlike Chen. Zhang Tielin also. If "Fala" were an English/Western name, then the current title is OK, but it's not. - Comment South China Morning Post actually does treat "Fala" as if it were an English name (and hence calls her by the "full name" Fala Chen Fa-la [1]). Xinhua uses Fala Chen pretty consistently. 58.176.246.42 (talk) 14:52, 9 August 2015 (UTC)
