Talk:Equality Commission for Northern Ireland

Latest comment: 13 years ago by Jonchapple in topic Irish and Ulster-Scots dialects

I was about to add the above new cat, but it is unclear whether this organisation is a NDPB of HMG or the NIE. Can someone please provide a reliable external ref, cos their website does not enlighten the visitor. --Mais oui! (talk) 08:29, 15 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

Found a ref myself: this October 2006 document from the NI Central Procurement Directorate lists the Equality Commission as being under the Office of the First Minister and deputy First Minister:
I will therefore apply the new cat. --Mais oui! (talk) 08:49, 15 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

Irish and Ulster-Scots dialects

edit

Hardly necessary to clutter the article by providing sources for official alternative versions of the organisation's name, but for the record, the one I excised re Ulster-Scots dialect version 'Equalitie Commision fer Norlin Airlan' was http://www.dardni.gov.uk/07-08_annual_progress_report_to_the_equality_commission_ulster_scots-english.pdf Annual equality progress report 2007–08 of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, while sources for the Irish version 'Coimisiún Comhionannais do Thuaisceart Éireann' include http://www.equalityni.org/archive/pdf/SENDOSumGuideSchoolsIrish%28F%29.pdf Achoimre ar dhualgais Idirdhealaithe Míchumais d'Earnáil na Scoileanna, one of several ECNI publications in Irish. Nice one, I do normally stick in the Irish too but was at work and in a bit of a hurry. It is usual to reference Irish and USc names on NI-related articles, but if you think they're better left off here that's fine. JonChappleTalk 06:31, 23 August 2011 (UTC)Reply
