Baltimore City College is a B...?
There should be something about Shawne Merriman because he is a good linebacker for the Chargers and he graduated from Eleanor Roosevelt High School.
Whoever put Nicholas Keller on here (and I have an idea that it's Nick himself)--very funny, but no. That needs to come off. Cute, but no.
ease up, ese. Wasn't me, but I can't control all the love I get from my worldwide fans. And hey, if it's what the people want -- it's what the People want!
Love, Nick
Happened to swing by and take a look at the history. It appears that Nick isn't the only one that people have been "adoring." Glad people are taking notice of these things, though.
Notable Alumni
editThe list is a bit messy because of some fallacious additions. It looks like it used to be in alphabetical order by last name, but it's not that way anymore. Does anyone know if it's supposed to be alphabetical or by year of graduation? 72.75.105.76 (talk) 16:49, 30 April 2011 (UTC) C'mon, Joe Pug? Prominent? He's a decent enough artist but essentially a small venue/club singer who barely makes an adequate living at his trade. Yet, Rosa Salazar, a young character actress who had a minor but significant role on the TV show, "Parenthood", is not listed. That's plain inequitable.
Sergey Brin
edit"Sergey Brin ('90), Google co-founder, dropped out" -- Sergey did not "drop out"; he graduated early. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 129.2.194.189 (talk) 22:03, 1 November 2007 (UTC)
Shawne Merriman
editShawne Merriman did not go to Roosevelt he went to Frederick Douglas in Upper Marlboro
Rud Moe
editI removed:
- Rud Moe ('08), whatta card
from the notable alums section (which was added recently by an anonymous user). A Google search shows that this is a real person at NASA Goddard, but certainly not in ERHS class of '08. Josh Thompson 05:22, 22 March 2007 (UTC)
Rud moe is in fact a real person at erhs 08. just because they have the same name doesnt mean they cant exist. retard —Preceding unsigned comment added by 138.88.173.60 (talk) 20:03, 19 September 2007 (UTC)
- OK, so this person exists in the class of '08. As far as I can tell, this person is neither notable nor an alum. Josh Thompson 21:40, 19 September 2007 (UTC)
STD statistics
editI removed this sentence which was added recently by an anonymous IP user: "60% of the students who gave blood in 2004 had a STD/STI." If it is true, then it should have a reference. And it shouldn't go in the "class colors" section. Josh Thompson 00:17, 26 March 2007 (UTC)
Principal Conyers Promoted
editPrincipal Sylvester Conyers was recently promoted, so ERHS is looking for a new principal this summer. Here is the link to the article from the Washington Post:
You will need to scroll down. I hope that we can correct this information.
New Principal
editThough I can't cite anything definite yet (as it was just announced in an unofficial e-mail), school administrator Reginald McNeil was recently promoted to the position of principal. I will update when there is something to cite.

You can cite the update ERHS webpage, updated today with Reginald McNeil as principal. Someone should correct the line about University Park students who "choose" to attend ERHS. This is not a neighborhood school for Univ. Park--students test in, or sometimes transfer for Russian or another very specific reason.70.108.6.213 02:46, 22 August 2007 (UTC) b
I think Jim Henson the Muppet guy is a notable alum, but I'm not sure what year —Preceding unsigned comment added by 128.8.90.198 (talk) 14:07, 10 December 2008 (UTC)
re; Henson -- nope. According to his wikipedia bio, he attended Northwestern about 20 years before Roosevelt opened. Many of us early Raiders loved the Muppets, though. (Class of '80) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.40.199.103 (talk) 01:01, 6 July 2009 (UTC)
The Science and Technology Center
editThat's essentially the same information as in the Oxon Hill High School topic, and the duplication serves no useful purpose. Splitting it out - and completing it to mention each school that's involved, would be a better way to present the information. Tedickey (talk) 23:35, 22 November 2009 (UTC)
The Science and Technology Center is a magnet program offered in Prince George's Co. Public Schools and creating a separate page for just that program would also be redundant unless that article were to include EVERY magnet program that PGCPS offers. One could say that the specialized science high schools of New York City have duplicate information as Stuyvesant HS, Bronx Science, and Brooklyn Tech, all have the same specialized science program, yet each of those schools discuss the program on their respective pages. (Maryland Pride (talk) 08:15, 25 November 2009 (UTC))
- or, alternatively, discussing magnet programs in Prince George's County. As it stands now, there's no interconnectivity between the material for this program among the different schools. Tedickey (talk) 09:23, 25 November 2009 (UTC)
I took your suggestion and just created a general PGCPS magnet programs page on wiki called Prince George's County Public Schools Magnet Programs but then it got flagged for being "biased" and an "advertisement". I'm not exactly sure on what the wiki procedure is for creating articles but all I did was list the program and gave a description of the program, but somehow its considered "advertising". Feel free to read the article. It includes the "Science and Tech" program for which you specifically mentioned. Maryland Pride (talk) 06:10, 27 November 2009 (UTC)
- I see - let's move the discussion there (so there will be some visible progress, to reduce the chance of deletion ;-) Tedickey (talk) 10:51, 27 November 2009 (UTC)
first-and-only
editThat should be sourced to something other than the school's website, since it is a promotional claim. Tedickey (talk) 10:39, 20 January 2010 (UTC)
