Abbreviation - EDM or ES?
editThe common abbreviation of Einsatzstaffel is ES [1], should we replace EDM with ES? Tezwoo (talk) 01:19, 16 August 2020 (UTC)
- That wasn't its name, that is just the title of the article. Its name, as detailed in the first sentence was the Einsatzstaffel der Deutschen Mannschaft, and EDM is the obvious abbreviation for that. Peacemaker67 (click to talk to me) 04:09, 16 August 2020 (UTC)
- Multiple sources refer to this unit with abbreviation ES. None as EDM. Simple GBS can prove this.--Antidiskriminator (talk) 05:49, 16 August 2020 (UTC)
- Hardly conclusive, the first hit refers to the Romanian Volksdeutsche organisation also called the Einsatzstaffel (ie not this organisation), one is in German, another one doesn't even clearly refer to this organisation. Others are snippet views and it is impossible to know for sure what they are referring to. The German article uses the abbreviations ES der DM, ES or E-Staffel. But I really don't care what it is, as long as we don't just repeat the highly generic "Einsatzstaffel" throughout the article as was the case before.
