Title change

edit

Hi I would like to request that the title of this article is changed to {Egmont (media group)}, so that I can provide more info about Egmont, and therefore keep al the information in one article. --Pbrun (talk) 13:15, 4 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

Title change

edit

The title of the Egmont Group (publishing) article is misleading, since only part of Egmont involves publishing, therefore I recommend that the article is called Egmont media group is more suited.

What does it take to make this change? --Pbrun (talk) 18:16, 4 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

The term "publishing" encompasses a lot more than just book and magazine printed matter nowadays. I'd rather have simply re-titled it Egmont Group; but that is somebody else. Egmont started out as a traditional publishing firm, and that is still where they are by far the best known. Let's concentrate on improving the article with solid references. --Orange Mike | Talk 18:57, 4 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

Yeah you are right that they print magazines, cartoons and books, and the publishing is being used in wider range then earlier, it is just that they also distribute Playstation products, run communities, produce film, runs a tv2 in Norway and that the firm speaks of it self as a media group. --Pbrun (talk) 08:04, 10 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

New key figures

edit

The page currently shows 2010 figures. In 2012 revenue is up to 1.6 billion EUR. Employees is now 6400 (in 2012). Sources are http://www.egmont.com/Press/news-and-press-releases/Egmont-achieved-new-record-profit/ and http://www.egmont.com/About-Egmont/Key-figures-and-annual-reports/. Will someone please make the change? Jonassmith (talk) 15:09, 21 March 2013 (UTC)Reply

Move Egmont UK section to its own page

edit

I suggest moving the "UK Branch" section to its own page entitled Egmont UK. As it is, the "UK Branch" section takes up disproportional space as it is "just" one of many Egmont companies. For reference, Egmont UK's website is at http://www.egmont.co.uk/ Jonassmith (talk) 06:47, 10 September 2013 (UTC)Reply

Change suggestions: Business areas and key figures

edit

I suggest the following changes:

Firstly, 'music' is no longer part of Egmont's business areas and has not been so for a long time so that should be deleted in the main text.

Secondly, the key figures displayed on the site are outdated. Revenue, operating income, total equity, number of employees, total Foundation donations. These should be changed in the fact box and in the article text to match 2013 figures as available in the official press release of March 18, 2014: http://www.egmont.com/int/Press/news-and-press-releases/Egmont-sets-new-record/#.U19kZIF_t8F The press release should at the same time be listed as a reference.

Will anybody please be helpful and make the changes? Thanks! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jespermikk (talkcontribs) 08:58, 29 April 2014 (UTC)Reply
