... that Greek-Turkish singer Eftalya Işılay earned her nickname "Efthalia the Mermaid" for singing on a rowboat at Bosphorus during full moon nights in summer, and used it also on her records? Source: "Mehtaplı gecelerde daima sandal gezileri yapardık... O zaman babam sandalda bütün gece bana şarkı söyletirdi...", "Halbuki incecik sesiyle şarkı söyleyen bu gece şarkıcısına bir isim koymak lazımdı... "Deniz Kızı", "Deniz Kızı" demeye başladılar... İşte Deniz Kızı bu beş yaşındaki Eftalya idi...", "Evlilik:Sadi Işılay", "Deniz Kızı Eftalya, Kadıköylü, CD, müzik kasetinin kitapçığı, Kalan Müzik, 1988." (in Turkish)[1]
Overall: Thank you @CeeGee: for this very nice article about a Rum singer in Istanbul. The article is new and long enough, it is free of plagiarism according to the copyvio software, it is neutral, well sourced, has no picture and QPQ has been done. The hook is adequately cited and interesting: maybe it would be better to make it a little bit shorter (now it is 189 chars long), but until someone complains, it can stay so. :-) Good to go!
