Requested move
edit{{helpme}}
*Diamante Citron → Diamante citron - capitalization is not important, it doesn't let itself move probably because there is a redirct page on Diamante citron,CitricAsset (talk) 22:47, 11 March 2008 (UTC)
- I have looked over it and yes, the reason is that there is a redirect. I don't think using
{{helpme}}
is the best way to get people to help. You should go to Wikipedia:Requested moves for the request.--Sunny910910 (talk|Contributions|Guest) 22:57, 11 March 2008 (UTC)- Move implemented.--Yannismarou (talk) 16:25, 15 March 2008 (UTC)
Old discussions
editThe article is very interesting, and should be expanded with more referances and detailes.--Moshe Yakob 15:40, 23 August 2007 (UTC)
- I would like to see a specific reference to "Yanova Esrog". Google is virtually silent about the term. I would also like evidence that Yanova is the Yiddish for Genoa - I do notice that Yanova or Janowa is a town near Lublin. -- RHaworth 16:09, 23 August 2007 (UTC)
- I wouldn't. I really, really wouldn't. This article is supposed to be about a fruit, not a piece odd, misplaced publicity about Judaism. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.160.222.99 (talk) 20:54, 15 June 2013 (UTC)
- I don't think I could find you some evidence from secular sources. In the Hebrew books there is more than enough evidence for that, and it is not questioned at all. The only question might be if there wern't a different genotype in yanova which is not the diamante, you may contact professor Goldschmidt, or rather some Italian professors who may help you in this issue, if you are interested. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Johnbrewe (talk • contribs) 14:32, 31 August 2007 (UTC)
{{tl|helpme}} translate the latin text from Giovanni Baptista Ferrari regarding the Diamante citron, as well as the same about the Greek Citron in the following page. Shoteh (talk) 20:51, 21 January 2008 (UTC)
- Might be better off if you as at Wikipedia:Reference_desk/Language. You'll get a broader range of responses. The Evil Spartan (talk) 21:29, 21 January 2008 (UTC)
- I was going to suggest trying the Latin language version of Wikipedia to see if they might be able to assist. http://la.wiki.x.io/wiki/Pagina_prima. Nick (talk) 21:30, 21 January 2008 (UTC)

Color of Diamante citron fruits
editThe wikipedia article includes a picture of a green fruit, but vegtalk.org lists the Diamante citron's color as yellow. So, I would like the wikipedia article to include information about the coloring of this fruit if possible. What are its basic colors when ripe? Also, do the fruits change in color as they grow, and if so... what are the various colors when they are "unripe," "ripe," and "overripe?" I am also curious as to the coloring of their pulp. Does anyone know? Thanks. Fallendarling (talk) 20:22, 22 July 2010 (UTC)
`==What's this about?== What's this article about - Judaism or Citrus Fruit? I came to this article looking at Citrus, and I get Jewish Culture instead. Shouldn't that be a separate article? 109.35.52.246 (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 02:03, 3 April 2011 (UTC).
- Absolutely agree. Came here expecting to find an article based around biology and science and instead found a preponderance of information about Judaism. Am left wondering (i) why? and (ii) should we expect a similar shift of focus in all Wikipedia articles about the animal and vegetable kingdoms? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.160.222.99 (talk) 20:51, 15 June 2013 (UTC)
- The primary use of the Diamante citron is as a ritual fruit in the Jewish festival of Sukkot. As far as I know, it doesn't have much culinary or other secular significance. As far as I know, it's cultivated mainly for Jewish ritual purposes. Do you really want a stub about the plant containing little more than a link to a long article about its significance in Judaism?
