Cat
editThe section says
- He introduces every show with the greeting "Evening all, from home in Perthshire," and then ends the show by saying "All right, Sam [his Abyssinian cat], you can go out in a minute!" He finally signs off before the news with "Bye just now!" His usual sign-off is "And, of course, thank you for having us [the "us" emphasised] at your place - and us always includes Sam, a pussy cat . . ."
Actually, his exact speech varies from programme to programme. He always mentions Sam, the pussycat, sometimes calling him "golden-pawed Sam" and maybe making reference to golden-pawed Sam tapping his paw in time with the music or purring through the songs or something, but it isn't the same words every week. Can this be changed? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 94.196.102.178 (talk • contribs) 21:40, 9 February 2014 (UTC)
Family
editPresumably Carrington never married, as none of the obituaries mention it. Did he have any living family at all? Martinevans123 (talk) 22:25, 2 February 2017 (UTC)
- The BBC report http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-38835961 describes Dave Aylott, who survives him, as "his partner and producer", other reports as "his close friend". "Partner" could, I suppose, mean business partner, but in the context I imagine probably not. Ghughesarch (talk) 04:05, 3 February 2017 (UTC)
- I've emailed Dave and he has kindly agreed to provide a photo in a few days. Martinevans123 (talk) 23:18, 3 February 2017 (UTC)
