Restore to 2017 version
editI have restored the article to the version of 20:16, 10 September 2017, the last reasonably good version prior to the edits starting in January 2019 that have introduced completely unsourced material, and rewritten previously-sourced material, which I have not been able to find any verification of. I see that Dl2000 and a few others have made efforts to clean up those edits, but I don't think anything from them can be salvaged. I don't see that there have been any edits that actually improve the article since that version.
The Department of Criminal Intelligence (a.k.a. (Central) Criminal Intelligence Department) was an historical organization that existed only in the first part of the 20th century. It was the precursor to the Intelligence Bureau, see: [1], [2], [3], [4], etc. The website of the Ministry of Home Affairs does not list any current department or division called the "Department of Criminal Intelligence": [5]. A Google search did not turn up any evidence of its continued existence, apart from the listed Facebook page, which anyone could have made. I could not find anything about it being "recast in April 1994", anything about a budget, or anyone named N.K. Mishra...
The material added by users Armaansinghips and Osama shaikh y2aj fitness is largely incomprehensible and entirely unsourced. Unless they can provide a valid explanation, with reliable sources, they should not restore any of the material. --IamNotU (talk) 02:15, 30 December 2019 (UTC)
- Armaansinghips and Osama shaikh y2aj fitness have both been blocked for perpetrating hoaxes that appear to be related to these news stories about a police impersonator: [6], [7], see the ANI report. Facebook and LinkedIn profiles mentioning "Arman Singh Khatri" and the non-existent Department of Criminal Intelligence also appear to be hoaxes. --IamNotU (talk) 22:34, 30 December 2019 (UTC)
