Reunion
editDFA has recently been confirmed to play Coachella, the band is back, the article needs to reflect this. We need to keep an eye out on the new for more info, sources to cite.
I think we're off to a good start. Can we get more information in the discussion page? The news is way fresh but there has to be more out there.
separate pages
editI think we should create separate pages for JFK and Seb, since they both work on different projets as well as DFA, but right now typing their name in automatically links you to the DFA page. --81.243.234.31 16:03, 12 July 2006 (UTC)

Is it not a Smashing Pumpkins reference? They have two songs, "Death From Above" and "1979". — Preceding unsigned comment added by 151.225.186.99 (talk) 14:27, 4 January 2015 (UTC)
'from' capitalization
editI guess this is a trivial matter, but for the sake of correctness, I think the 'from' in the article's main page should have the F in upper case. If you look on their MySpace page in the About section, they have the F in their name capitalized.
Prepositions in titles are usually never capitalized. - CMK 02:31, 25 September 2006 (UTC)
Quite right, but there are several occurrences in the article itself where it has the word capitalized. Seeing as how that's the way the band does it, why not change the article title? I'd just like to reiterate that it is a trivial matter, so it's no big deal to me.
Prepositions are never capitalized, unless they're longer than four letters. That means basically only "about" and "under" are capitalized. I'm going to go through and fix the article and links to reflect the lowercase "from". Evan Reyes 20:52, 7 February 2007 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for Image:B0006GB0J8.09.LZZZZZZZ.jpg
editImage:B0006GB0J8.09.LZZZZZZZ.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.
If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Coke question
editI was just wondering if the rumors that the reason that the covers of their albums all have their faces with elephant trunks is for "Snorting up more cocaine" is true. I don't have references but i was hoping for someone to find some on that subject
The short answer is Wallace Dodd Ford. --Endlessdan 15:25, 22 August 2007 (UTC)

editIs it simply a coincidence that "Death from Above" was the name of Cpt. Kilgore's crew in the 1979 film Apocalypse Now? Fazels2 (talk) 20:16, 8 October 2008 (UTC)

Renamed band back to Death From Above 1979 again in 2020
editSince the band has gone by Death From Above 1979 since 2020, should this page be renamed and have Death From Above (band) redirect there? While on the topic of names, they often are abbreviated to DFA 1979, perhaps this should be included in the aliases? Terran Scribe (talk) 03:01, 20 July 2023 (UTC)
- Per WP:NATURAL there's no reason to use a name requiring parenthetical disambiguation when a relatively frequently-used unambiguous name also exists. This seems like a case where that would apply. – Arms & Hearts (talk) 16:15, 11 August 2023 (UTC)
