Riley conversion with original tail.
editIn The Saint (TV Series) season 5, episode 1 "The Queen's Ransom" a De Haviland Dove is shown with the Lycoming engine conversion with the original rounded tailfin. http://www.impdb.org/index.php?title=The_Saint_(TV_Series) That's a poor screen capture, the plane was used for quite a length of time in the episode. - The article already mentions that not all conversions had a new tail. G-ASUW was actually converted to Riley 400 Dove in the UK by Keegan Aviation at Luton and not by Riley. The article does imply all the conversions were done in the USA so we need to tweak that. MilborneOne (talk) 12:50, 16 June 2012 (UTC)
- JFYI, the "Sikorsky S-51" in that linked impdb "The Saint" article is actually a Westland Widgeon.
- BTW, IIRC a Dove appears as a getaway plane at the end of the 1963 film; The Wrong Arm of the Law.— Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.7.147.13 (talk) 14:34, 10 February 2013 (UTC)
Landing gear
editWere all Doves sold with retractable landing gear, or was it offered with optional fixed gear like the Heron was? The article says nothing about the landing gear; this would be useful information to add. Carguychris (talk) 19:52, 6 May 2024 (UTC)
