Young Performer
editShould this and Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Younger Actress in a Drama Series both be merged into Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Younger Performer in a Drama Series? (And we'll need to make that new page? --FeldBum (talk) 13:36, 13 July 2020 (UTC)
- @FeldBum, I think merging is quite impossible due to the fact that both awards have been on for more than 30 years, and thus have different statistics and thus are very extensive in themselves. Plus, both pages are featured lists, so it just would not make sense to do a merge. If you look at Wikipedia:Merging#Reasons for merger, we should avoid merging if the resulting article would be too long, and since they are still different discrete subjects as they are different awards given to different people of different genders, they deserve their standalone article. Both awards do not duplicate, they do not overlap and both pages are not short, so once, again no reason for a merge, in my opinion. However, A Younger Performer page is required, however, with the habit of the Daytime Emmys, not being as consistent with their award titles, in their websites and social media, and even award ceremonies. I have been hesitant in starting the page, as I am not sure if the award title is "Young Performer" or "YoungER Performer". — AwardShowFan123 (talk, contribs) 14:55, 14 July 2020 (UTC)
- I totally defer to you, AwardShowFan123 (mostly based on your username). I'm convinced not to merge, but we definitely need a new page for the award. As per NATAS (see here), it's definitely younger performer. --FeldBum (talk) 18:04, 14 July 2020 (UTC)
- Happy to split working on the page draft with you. My sandbox or yours :)? --FeldBum (talk) 18:06, 14 July 2020 (UTC)
- While I want to agree with you, and it would make sense since like with the previous categories, it included the "er", yet when NATAS released the winners (see here, it simply states "Young" and it is the same during the telecast, when Keegan won the award, they presented the category as "Young Performer" (see here. You see why I am a little confused and hesitant? I feel like until we see the inscription on Keegan's statue, we will not know for sure what is the actual title of the award. — AwardShowFan123 (talk, contribs) 18:39, 14 July 2020 (UTC)
- Oh man, you are right again. That is one confused organization. I guess we wait to see that statuette. --FeldBum (talk) 18:47, 14 July 2020 (UTC)
