"High quality hand built"? I thought Dawes was known for making relatively cheap, mass-produced bikes. I think their highest end racing bike uses Tiagra components and oddly enough, their touring bikes offer 105 components.
- The reputation is reasonable - certainly in touring circles. It would help to have a reference. The Parson's Cat (talk) 14:55, 19 December 2011 (UTC)
Needs a few references
editAs far as I can tell, everything here is true ... but Wikipedia needs to have references to reliable sources. The article only has two references, and these are so incomplete that it would be very hard for a reader to identify the original source.
Clumsy
editBetween 1978 and 2001 the company was sold at least five times, passing through the hands of various venture capital and leisure companies. Resultantly, by the mid-1980s, the firm had 50 staff at its dilapidated Tysley factory.
The five sales ending in 2001 cannot have produced a result of any sort as early as the mid-1980s. 109.145.108.156 (talk) 22:38, 22 June 2016 (UTC)
