The result of the move request was: no consensus. There were two major questions at play here: (1) is the Doctors character the WP:PRIMARYTOPIC for "Daniel Granger", and (2) is his name sufficiently different from Daniel L.D. Granger under WP:SMALLDETAILS. On both points, editors were divided, preventing a consensus from emerging in either direction. – Per page views, the character is the primary topic. With there only being WP:ONEOTHER, I'd like to propose that the character is moved to the unbracketed title, with a hatnote for Daniel L.D. Granger at the head of the article. – Meena • 20:24, 13 June 2023 (UTC) — Relisting. - Note: pages with content, such as Daniel Granger, are ineligible to be proposed titles in move requests unless they, too, are dispositioned. "Daniel Granger → Deleted to make way for page move" was added to this request to meet that requirement. P.I. Ellsworth , ed. put'er there 02:49, 14 June 2023 (UTC)Reply
- Support as it is the primary topic and Daniel L.D. Granger has a different name anyway. DaniloDaysOfOurLives (talk) 20:26, 13 June 2023 (UTC)Reply
- Support per nom and per the fact both have different names anyway. –Davey2010Talk 18:03, 16 June 2023 (UTC)Reply
- Oppose. It should be (and is) a very, very high bar for a fictional character to take primary topic status when there is a real person by that name. Harry Potter is a rare exception. This is not. Having a different name is a really poor argument, as the politician's name clearly was Daniel Granger. Having initials in the middle does not make it a different name. That's not how disambiguation pages work. -- Necrothesp (talk) 14:45, 19 June 2023 (UTC)Reply
- I think the page views and Google search results (which detail either the character or a real life hairdresser) make this character the clear primary topic over the politician. – Meena • 15:39, 19 June 2023 (UTC)Reply
- If needed, a "not to be confused with..." sentence can be used. I disagree with them not being different names - if they had the same name, the page for the politician would be simply "Daniel Granger", but it is not. Also, the character is demonstrated to be the primary topic over the latter. DaniloDaysOfOurLives (talk) 16:23, 19 June 2023 (UTC)Reply
- So,, if that's the case I'm sure you can explain to me why John Kennedy redirects to John F. Kennedy. Following your logic, John Kennedy wasn't his name! He was never called John Kennedy; he was always called John F. Kennedy or Jack Kennedy. But as I said, that's not how naming works on Wikipedia. -- Necrothesp (talk) 09:32, 20 June 2023 (UTC)Reply
- Rudeness/sarcasm is not required - I was making a comment and you did not need to be so rude. DaniloDaysOfOurLives (talk) 14:11, 20 June 2023 (UTC)Reply
- How on earth could you interpret that as rude? I was just pointing out the flaw in your logic and assertions. -- Necrothesp (talk) 15:41, 20 June 2023 (UTC)Reply
- WikiNav doesn't even render here, so the traffic is pretty low. https://pageviews.wmcloud.org/?project=en.wiki.x.io&platform=all-access&agent=user&redirects=0&start=2015-07&end=2023-05&pages=Daniel_Granger indicates that the topic is indeed past its heyday, so it's doubtful that there's a meaningful primary topic with such a niche topic. --Joy (talk) 17:09, 28 June 2023 (UTC)Reply
