Name & organizational change

edit

There has been major changes to DNV GL since the merger, e.g. pertaining to number of employees. Perhaps we could ask some employees to contribute with facts? Also, the headline must be changed; I don't think I can do this.Bjornte (talk) 08:42, 19 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

  • @Novem Linguae: I think this case resembles BMW. The most well-known instance is the company DNV. Other uses are lesser-known and used abbreviations. I think the company should be the main DNV article, with a link to disambiguation page. I don’t think keeping the article under DNV GL as it is makes much sense as the company does not operate under that name any more. –Argeausian (talk) 20:06, 10 March 2021 (UTC)Reply
Support. From pageviews, web searches, and consideration that the other "DNV"s are not actual common names but instead acronyms, DNV GL is probably the wp:primary topic.
Another thing is that from web searches, there are uses of the new name in wp:secondary sources. Since secondary sources that use the new name are given more weight, the rename should also be compatible with wp:common name. ~ Aselestecharge-paritytime 03:39, 12 March 2021 (UTC)Reply
