A Suggestion
editI came to this article while reading about the Irish famine. To me at least, the article lacks clarity and precision. May I suggest that the author look at Cecil Woodham-Smith's book 'The Great Hunger - Ireland 1845-1849'. Her two pages on the conacre system read like a tutorial on the subject of land usage in Ireland and the potato culture that led to the disaster. Judiciously edited and properly attributed, her text could be incorporated into this article. It would be an improvement over the Britannica. If it helps - p 34-35, Penguin, 1991
