The topics of Color eraser and antieraser were added to this article. But these don't seem to be a part of Color killer ( a different purpose, a different mechanism etc.) A new article for mekhikon would be the best. Nedim Ardoğa (talk) 19:19, 22 July 2013 (UTC)Reply

But, as the article mentions, the color eraser was implemented as part of the transmission, simply by eliminating the color burst. The color erasing operation was completed by the receiver, whose color killer circuit, seeing there was no color burst, shut down the receiver color processing circuits so that, even though the rest of the transmitted signal contained color information, only a monochrome signal was displayed on the receiver screen. The point is that the burst mentioned as part of the "Color eraser" operation is the same burst, the lack of which, causes the color killer to shut down color display entirely. So both the burst and the color killer are the two essential parts of the "color eraser" operation.
The color killer was never intended for the purpose of a broadcast station to easily shut off the color portion of a transmission (Color erasure). The fact that the color killer can work in this novel way serves as a counter example, which in turn helps the reader understand the mechanism of the color killer. Therefore the "Eraser" section should be retained. Ohgddfp (talk) 15:38, 22 March 2020 (UTC)Reply
