Add subtract
editI think I'm pretty much done adding things here - though I invite others to add whatever they think is important. It seems to me that the major buildings are here and to get other buildings of a good-even quality might mean doubling the list size. But I'll put it this way: these are some of my favorites, other people's favorites should also be included. I haven't been able to track down some of these to photograph - the SS Kresge building is beyond me - there are 3-4 buildings on that block that I've photographed but none of them look to me like a Kresge! I'll put them on Commons and maybe somebody can tell me which it is. The Rittenhouse buildings may have disappeared. Addresses are mixed up a bit there, but it looks to me like a 40 year old ugly ex-government building is on the site. After a bit, I may remove some of the non-illustrated buildings on the list. It just seems to me that there are so many good buildings in the district that we might as well only put in those that we can illustrate. Smallbones (talk) 16:57, 12 November 2010 (UTC)
- The Rittenhouse houses are/were at Rittenhouse St. Also, this page puts the Kresge building at 5549/51/53 Germantown Avenue, built in 1926.--BillFlis (talk) 19:57, 12 November 2010 (UTC)
- "Are/were" means "were" as in Google Street View? Kresge had wrong address in the list (5300 block), but I found it - for some reason I was very impressed with the building immediately south (Cherry's) and have an impressive collection of pictures of Kresge's side door! BTW Otenginer House (sp?) is a nice building with lots of trees in front of it and seems especially hard to photograph, but I'll get there again. Any favorites in Chestnut Hill?
