editApparently 003 is the official code of this project with 002 being the official code of the second aircraft carrier of the People's Liberation Army Navy that was recently launched back in April of this year. — Preceding unsigned comment added by ChineseToTheBone (talk • contribs) 03:30, 23 August 2017 (UTC)

Made a correction. According to the source article, type 2 carrier will be equipped with steam catapults ("002型航母将采用蒸汽弹射器,没有配备电磁弹射器"), not EMALS. --BeyRel (talk) 00:28, 14 September 2017 (UTC)

Can we change the name of PLAN ships as PLANS XX ?
editAs what I said in title, the official name of PLAN ships are "中国人民解放军海军XX舰", which can be translated as "People's Libreation Army Naval Ship XX". — Preceding unsigned comment added by BattleshipRoastChicken (talk • contribs)
- No, as that prefix is not recognized as official per the Wikipedia:Naming conventions (ships) guideline. BilCat (talk) 09:37, 21 June 2022 (UTC)
- So... I can add a rediect from "PLANS Fujian" to "Chinese aircraft carrier Fujian" instead of changing the name simply? BattleshipRoastChicken (talk) 11:04, 21 June 2022 (UTC)
- Yes, should be able to do that. BilCat (talk) 11:13, 21 June 2022 (UTC)
