Chasa is one of the high class caste in odissa. They are part of khandayat community. They are khyatriya in origin. They are among panikhia jati in odissa. Panikhia jati in odissa holds high value in odissa. It is written in wikipedia that they are shudras. Which is misleading. I am giving source for every line but you are deleting that .in odissa every one know chasa and khandayat are same caste having same origin. Marriage happens among them. They are just like teli and kuvara. Also I have given good source to prove that .these article will make caste conflict. These kind of article can divide them. Ok fine. Have objection as mentioned in the article that chasa belongs to shudra Varna. This is based on Hetberyt hope resley book which was actually a British revenge for paika war.

More over in that book he mentioned mainly about the small and poor farmers of prencely state of Bengal. Coming to Odisha the kahandayay and chasa are the actual tribe of Odisha and no way they are from shudra Varna. They are like Kshatriya and vaishya Varna from north India. It is same like Reddy in South India. Actually there are no such evidence that odisha have the same Varna system like north India. This is a land of Odra tribe. As it was not a separate state before 1936 so there are many misinterpretation regarding the Varna and cast system. These are conflict stories and Bengal chasa and odisha chasa community are totally different origin. Odisha chasa are from Odra tribe. Usually they do cultivation and when needed they joined the Paika to act against British tax system. So either you change it or else I will drag this matter to court. Thank you. The chasa community from odisha ate no way belongs to shudra Varna. We request you to change it or else we will take action against you . The first link provided in this article is clearly maintain that the chasa are the forward caste on Odisha. Actually they are the main tribe of Odisha. But relying on Herbert hope really book which was a planning by Britisher to make sure people who joined Paika rebellion will not get any job in British India as it was ruled then to give job to those who support Britisher. So the cast system introduce by Britisher was actually misleading and not not all trust worthy. The Varna system in Odisha in not same as north India like south. Odisha was a tribal state. Even the Brahmin in Odisha were actually bought to Odisha from north india.And as odisha was not a separate state the author is actually get confused between chasa which is a part of khandayat community from odisha and chasa from Bengal region which was actually mentioned in the Hebert hope resley book 1901.
