- It is reasonably well written.
- a (prose): b (MoS):
- Intro is not really substantial enough for a GA bio - should be a couple of paras covering the main points described in the body of the article.

Fix for this pending. I will expand it within the next few days.Strikehold (talk) 08:26, 26 April 2009 (UTC)- Okay, I expanded the lead. Please have a look and let me know what you think. Strikehold (talk) 02:20, 29 April 2009 (UTC)

- It is broad in its coverage.

- Perhaps I've missed something but don't see anywhere that the Battle of Monterrey, noted in the infobox, is referred to in the body of the article.

- You are right. Most of the sources didn't go into too much detail on his involvement there, but I found a mention of where his unit fell in the order of battle. I added a section on this battle. Strikehold (talk) 08:26, 26 April 2009 (UTC)

- Generally images in infoboxes are restricted to a size of 200px or so; seen some 180px and some 250px but recommend 200.

Aside from these points, the article looks very good, and if you can address these in the next week or so I'll have no prob passing as GA.
One minor style issue that doesn't have a bearing on passing or not, the word "served" is repeated in quick succession in After the Mexican War, May served in several different parts of the American frontier, including California,[15] New Mexico,[16] and Texas.[17] He served with the First Regiment of Dragoons in the Kansas Territory... Could the second occurrence be altered to say "attached to" or some such to avoid the repetition?
- That's a good point. Done. Strikehold (talk) 08:26, 26 April 2009 (UTC)
