Hello, I am part of a Wikipedia Public Policy Initiative at Syracuse University, and am interested in editing this article. I would like to add more information specific to Cameroon, as well as to NGO's that were, or are still, involved with this project. I would love any input and very much appreciate any advice! Thank you! Katheb246 (talk) 23:12, 3 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

I think you'll find a lot of what you're looking for here. Both Sub-Saharan Africa and the politics and effects of infrastructure are under-reported areas on Wikipedia, so welcome aboard!--Carwil (talk) 17:49, 8 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

Article fails to give any information about use (or not-use) of the pipeline?

edit

The article reads more like a discussion of many "ifs" and so on... but clear data like:

In 2007 there have been transported xyz Million Tonnes of crude oil to ...... or have been transported 125,000 barrels per day in 2007 for example.

I know that Chad has a very limited reserves, at least the yet known, I'm sure they would find new big oil fields/complexes... but it is landlocked and evenn with the pipeline... it was not build for yet unknown amounts and I think Chad produced around ~100,00bpd some years ago, Reserves were 1.1 billion barrels back than, and as we know every inch larger means higher costs:

for material, transport, even the deployment is very different it you compare a small vehicle and if there is a big difference in inches or so which easily can increase the weight by more than 100%...

But Question: Does anybody have any information about the usage, the amount in barrels per day? Greetings Kilon22 (talk) 17:58, 16 March 2016 (UTC)Reply

Article title

edit

Hello from a fairly new editor! Wouldn't it make sense to rename the Article "Chad-Cameroon Pipeline"? Since the development of the project has concluded in 2003. What does everyone think? Fr8er (talk) 17:30, 14 December 2023 (UTC)Reply

This is an excellent idea. I'm not sure, but I think you have to copy it all to a new page with a new name, and then set up a redirect to the new page. Econoclysm (talk) 12:06, 4 September 2024 (UTC)Reply

“Controversy”

edit

The article seems a little light on the basics of the controversy: that lenders wanted to control how oil revenue was used, but then in 2006 President Deby scrapped that part of the deal, the World Bank froze some bank account, and they negotiated a new oil revenue law. Something like that. Econoclysm (talk) 12:13, 4 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
