I would like to suggest to update some outdated facts in the article. Please note that I have a financial conflict of interest as I am being paid by Caterpillar Energy Solutions. Therefore, I will not make any edits myself but hope that uninvolved editors could review my suggestions and make changes if they find them appropriate.

The revenue can be found in the section "Gewinn- und Verlustrechnung für die Zeit vom 1. Januar bis 31. Dezember 2018" as "Umsatzerlöse" (revenue) in thousand euros (504,474 thousand euros = 504.474 million euros). Please note that in German a comma, and not a decimal point, is placed as separator before the cents and a point, and not a comma, is placed as a 3-digit group separator.

Part of an edit requested by an editor with a conflict of interest has been implemented.
Dear all,
I researched some sources for paragraphs where there are currently missing sources. In addition, I would like to suggest to update revenue and employee numbers as well as the products in the infobox (as kWel has changed due to changed company product porfolio). Please note that I have a financial conflict of interest as I am being paid by Caterpillar Energy Solutions. Therefore, I will not make any edits myself but hope that uninvolved editors could review my suggestions and make changes if they find them appropriate.
4. Reason for change being made:
Due to a changed product portfolio range of kWel has changed to 400 to 4,500 kWel
Suggested changes to the Article text:
Range kWel in text
1. Please remove the following sentences:
"The main focus of production is gas engines and gensets for the generation of electrical energy from 400 to 10,300 kWel per unit."
"Today, Caterpillar Energy Solutions offers mainly gas engines for cogeneration units and biogas plants with an output between 400 and 10,300 kilowatts."
2. Please add the following sentences instead:
"The main focus of production is gas engines and gensets for the generation of electrical energy from 400 to 4,500 kWel per unit."
"Today, Caterpillar Energy Solutions offers mainly gas engines for cogeneration units and biogas plants with an output between 400 and 4,500 kilowatts."
3. Using as the reference:
Same source as currently for the last sentence.
4. Reason for change being made:
Due to a changed product portfolio range of kWel has changed to 400 to 4,500 kWel
Small change in history section
1. Please remove the following sentence:
"On 8 October MWM announced that it would change its name to Caterpillar Energy Solutions from 1 November 2013."
2. Please add the following sentence:
"On 8 October 2013, MWM announced that it would change its name to Caterpillar Energy Solutions from 1 November the same year."
3. Using as the reference:
No change in reference
4. Reason for change being made:
Currently the sentence does not precisely state when the announcement to change the name was made. The suggested change makes it clearly that also the announcment has been made 2013.
Addition to history section 1
1. Please add the following to the history section:
"In 2016, Dan G. Sundell became Chief Executive Officer of Caterpillar Energy Solutions. He replaced Willy Schumacher, who retired. In 2019, Dan G. Sundell switched jobs within the Caterpillar Large Power Systems Division, and since then Johan Masse and Uwe Sternstein have supplemented the management team together with Peter Körner."
2. Using as the reference:
For "In 2016": Offical commercial register entry for the company: "Caterpillar Energy Solutions GmbH". online-handelsregister.de. Retrieved 2022-10-25.}
As this is in German, here is a translation of the relevant paragraph:
"Changes in the commercial register as of 2 May 2016 HRB 703305: Caterpillar Energy Solutions GmbH, Mannheim, Carl-Benz-Str. 1, 68167 Mannheim. Appointed as Managing Director: Sundell, Daniel Gene, Kiel, *xx.xx.xxxx , authorized to represent the company on his own behalf or as representative of a third party. No longer Managing Director: Schumacher, Willy, Mannheim,"
In-line with the German article, we would like to suggest to add this information.
Addition to history section 2
1. Please add the following to the history section:
"In 2017, KIT and Caterpillar Energy Solutions jointly invested around 12 million euros in a test laboratory for the further development of gas engines as a "bridging technology of the energy transition"."
2. Using as the reference:
Article in German daily: "Heizen und Forschen". Rheinpfalz. 2017-03-20. Retrieved 2022-10-25.}
3. Reason for change being made:
In-line with the German article, we would like to suggest to add this information.
Suggested new sources for history section:
New sources
First paragraph of history section: "In 1922 the department for the construction of stationary engines was outsourced and had its name changed from Benz & Cie. Rheinische Gasmotorenfabrik in Mannheim to Motorenwerke Mannheim. The renowned German engineer Prosper L'Orange, a pioneer of diesel engine technology, was the technical manager then. Before that he worked for Benz & Cie. The construction of diesel engines in particular used to be the core business of MWM, amongst others for utility vehicles and agricultural machines."
Suggested source:
Seitz, Stefan (2014). Wir sind Patent. Mobilität aus Mannheim (in German). Mannheim: Karin Ulrich. pp. 10–12. ISBN978-3-945534-00-7.
Second paragraph: In 1924 MWM manufactured their first tractor, which was called Motorpferd ("motor horse").
Suggested source:
Steiner-Welz, Sonja (2008). lte Mannheimer Werbeanzeigen (in German). Mannheim: Vermittlerverl. Mannheim. p. 187. ISBN978-3-866565-42-5.
Third paragraph: In 1926 Knorr-Bremse AG was able to acquire the majority of shares and took over. In 1985 they sold MWM to Deutz AG (Cologne). The company's site was maintained. The company, along with MAN SE, remained the chief engine manufacturer in the field of commercial diesel engines in Germany. DEUTZ restructured the whole company several times and expanded the gas engine division.

I greatly appreciate everybody's time and help with this! Please let me know if you have any questions or need additional information to implement the suggested changes if suitable, e.g. when looking at translations.
Re. Infobox changes: Since a new end-of-year report is available, it might be more appropriate to update the suggested changes and source to reflect the up-to-date data.
Re. Small change in history section: Looks good to me, I've implemented that.
Re. Range kWel in text: I actually don't think that the specifications of the product portfolio are relevant information for an encyclopedia, so I have removed that from the article. That resolves this suggestion too.
Re. Addition to history section 1: This is a bit too wordy, I've rewritten it: "In 2016, Dan G. Sundell became Chief Executive Officer of Caterpillar Energy Solutions. He left the position in 2019 and was replaced by Johan Masse, Uwe Sternstein, and Peter Körner."
Re. Addition to history section 2: I'm not convinced that this R&D investment is notable enough to be included in the article, are there any further secondary sources?
Re. New sources: I could not verify these sources, do you have any accessible sourcing as an alternative?
Dear @Actualcpscm:, sorry that it took me so long to reply. Please see below the most up to date figures for revenue and employee numbers. I also added a suggestion for an update of the key people section. Regarding the sources for the history section above: I do not have any other sources at hand. However, the published books are most reputable in my point of view, understanding though that these are hard to check. Please decide to add or rather not. Many thanks in advance for your time and effort with this again. Looking forward to your reply. Best, Conandcon (talk) 13:55, 12 October 2023 (UTC)Reply
The infobox changes below look good to me; Go ahead. Regarding the history section, I think your proposal above is fine. After all, Wikipedia requires information to be verifiable, not verifiable by me :) So feel free to add that to the article as well. Actualcpscmscrutinize, talk21:04, 13 October 2023 (UTC)Reply
