When digging a terrace in our old backyard on the slopes of Diamond Heights, San Francisco, I found a subterranean Tiger Salamander. The slopes are basically talus on top of bedrock with soil on top that is very moist especially during the winter. (Springs are always popping up during the rainy season.) So probably ideal for salamanders! -- J. Wong (talk) 06:07, 17 May 2012 (UTC)Reply
