Cal Poly Pomona is partially located on unincorporated land
editI made edits showing that Cal Poly Pomona is partially located on unincorporated land, particularly an area called Ramona, which is adjacent to Pomona, per Google Maps. As you can see on the map, Cal Poly Pomona's campus is partially located in this unincorporated area.
These edits were reverted simply because locals simply refer to the area as Pomona or Covina, despite not being located in either of these cities. This is similar to how locals refer to Vincent, another unincorporated community shown on Google Maps, as Covina. Sausage Link of High Rule (talk) 02:45, 1 March 2023 (UTC)
- You have some unknown intentions. When mentioning the location, you only mention the partially unincorporated area. You don't mention the fact that Cal Poly Pomona is partially located with the city of Pomona or that the address on W Temple is in Pomona. You've also tried to call it within the area called Ramona which is not true. I've never seen someone so fixated on the less relevant while trying to scrub the obvious. It's as if you're ashamed of the Pomona association. 71.231.145.125 (talk) 19:33, 14 April 2023 (UTC)
Your statement that students protested the "genocide in Gaza" is blatantly biased and it certainly does not meet your standard of providing a neutral point of view. This exactly illustrates why I no longer contribute to Wikipedia.

GA concerns
editI am concerned that this article no longer meets the good article criteria. Some of my concerns are listed below:
- There are uncited passages in the article.
- There is MOS:OVERSECTION at the end of the "Student life" section
- The "Rankings" have too much prominence; I suggest trimming.
- "Fall Enrolled Freshman Statistics (Fall 2022-Fall 2011)" needs to be updated with 2023 and 24 statistics.
Is anyone interested in fixing up this article, or should this go to WP:GAR? Z1720 (talk) 02:43, 10 October 2024 (UTC)

California State Polytechnic University, Pomona → Cal Poly Pomona – WP:COMMONNAME. Theparties (talk) 11:30, 22 December 2024 (UTC)
- Oppose. The full name provides a WP:TITLECON consistent naming convention across all articles on universities and colleges in the United States. Many reliable sources like Forbes and US News and World Report still use the full name. The OP has also made numerous individual RMs on this same issue like this one, which may violate WP:ACROTITLE or use a shorter common name that is rarely used outside a sports/athletic context. Better to stick to the status quo. Zzyzx11 (talk) 14:59, 22 December 2024 (UTC)
- Oppose as unnecessary, unwise, and confusing for readers. ElKevbo (talk) 15:07, 22 December 2024 (UTC)
