Renamed to British Indian Department

edit

I have renamed this article from "Indian Department" to "British Indian Department."

Even before the change, the article focused primarily on the British period of the Indian Department. Changing the name allows this article to focus even further on its main subject.

In addition, there are already a number of articles that deal with the Canadian Indian Department (Crown–Indigenous Relations and Northern Affairs Canada, The Canadian Crown and Indigenous peoples of Canada), and therefore this article is more useful if it focuses on a period that is not covered anywhere else NJInce (talk) 22:29, 15 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
