editThe piece could use some expansion, as Bonecrusher was one of the best horses to have come out of New Zealand in the modern era. The bit about Phar Lap makes it sound like Phar Lap got sick in Tokyo and had to withdraw from a race, whereas Phar Lap never went to Tokyo, and died from an illness in California. I am curious why as three year old at its peak Bonecrusher only raced twice in Australia[1]
