editI looked on Ancestry for any records relating to Anderson and found the following - ]
West Virginia, U.S., Births Index, 1804-1938 gives his full name as William Heatherington Anderson.
U.S., World War II Draft Cards Young Men, 1940-1947 says his birthday was January 26th, rather than the 6th. In 1942, he was a student at West Liberty College. His contact was given as Mrs Daisy Anderson of West Alexander, Pennsylvania.
In the 1950 Census, he is living with his mother, the aforementioned Mrs Anderson, and his three sisters Hannah, Daisy and Jean. They lived in Liberty, West Virginia. He was single and worked in construction.

- Thanks for this. He died in April 1984 and I have updated. Seems that he has gone undetected all these years owing to a typo with his birthdate that exists on various stats sites. --Jkaharper (talk) 10:54, 5 November 2022 (UTC)
