The War of Independence of the Israel State
editThe line about Abraham witnessing the War of independence of Israel has me puzzled. Did he live there at the time? Fight there? I simply don't understand what it has to do with his life. Ram9bo (talk) 19:10, 26 October 2015 (UTC)
- Obviously the text is taken from some source. Do you read Brazilian? In any case, this makes sense to me. He lived thru WWII and he lived thru another war. Living thru a war (if it is not a videogame) is an significant part of life, whether you fought it or sat in an anti-bomb shelter. And hence this is worth mentioning. I'm sorry, I don't read Brazilian. Does the source mention him living in the area at that time or is it supposed to be inferred from the sentence? Either way that would ofcourse be reason to mention it, I just think the article should be a bit more explicit. (Btw if I'm missing something obvious please do mention it, I might just be to blind to see) Ram9bo (talk) 20:14, 26 October 2015 (UTC)
- I agree it should. But I don't read Portugues either :-). If your interest is genuine, you may use "google translate" for web links given and probably find an answer to your question (and update the article as well). Staszek Lem (talk) 23:40, 26 October 2015 (UTC)
I´ll see if I can get some information out of the source to clarify the matter, thanks for the advice. Ram9bo (talk) 06:55, 27 October 2015 (UTC) I see you took that bit of work off my hands while I was away, good job. I did the little bit of copy editing required.
