A note
editI've made some improvements to this stub such as defining beachcombing in intro sentence but their are other improvements that could be made such as:
- Go into more detail about modern and historical beachcombing lifestyle including the negative stereotypes sometimes associated with beachcombers.
- Describe in detail the kind of things of value found by beachcombers.
- Describe impediments to living the beachcombing lifestyle these days such as local laws. fishing issues, etc.
I will at some point soon see if I can find some good info to add myself but anyone should feel free to start improving the article themselves in the meantime. --Cab88 16:28, 22 August 2006 (UTC)

Regarding the history section - first time in print
editIn Richard Henry Dana, Jr.'s Two Years Before the Mast (1840) the term beachcomber is used to describe the Sandwich Islanders present on the California Coast at San Pedro. I don't have all the info as I type, so I will need to get back to this before editing the main article. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.27.48.94 (talk) 01:49, 11 August 2009 (UTC)
Please help
editPlease add a hatnote tag saying "Beach comber redirects here. For the famous war pigeon of the same name, see Beach Comber."
Thank you for your kind attention to this matter.

- Sorry it took so long for someone to read your note. I have now put hatnotes on both articles. If you notice something like this again, please find an article that has a hat note, copy the whole thing off of the edit page, then paste it into the edit page of the article you want to work on, and then change the hat note to read what you want it to say. It's not very difficult to do. You can use the "Show Preview" button to see if you have got it right before you hit "Save Page". Best wishes, Invertzoo (talk) 15:08, 10 September 2014 (UTC)
