Grabbing this for a review. I did come back and say that I was going re-review this after all! Miyagawa (talk) 13:01, 19 August 2016 (UTC)Reply

  • Lead: Some of those characters are going to have individual articles themselves, and so should be linked here. In fact, I just checked Yara Greyjoy, and that's at least a re-direct, so I imagine they all have an article/re-direct that could be pointed at.
  • Plot: Likewise, if you're going to repeat the actor links in the plot from the lead (I do that myself, just some people choose not to), then you should repeat the character links as well.
  • Also, throw in the surnames when the characters are first mentioned, then you can switch to the common name (which for GoT would be the first name). Although where you say Theon and Yara, I'd format it as you have in the lead so that you just say Greyjoy once (since otherwise it'll be a very rapid repetition).
  • Writing: I'd drop forthcoming from "forthcoming sixth novel" - that way you won't have to update it later, yet it is still inherent that it wasn't published at the time of the episode by the following sentence.
  • You can just refer to the writers/creators by their surnames after the first mention
  • I'd change "The Battle of Cannae involved the army of Carthage defeating a much larger army from the Roman Republic led by Lucius Aemilius Paullus and Gaius Terentius Varro." to a note instead of being mentioned in the text - if you haven't done that before, let me know and I'll add the code (then you can copy it from here if you need to use it again).
  • Casting: When you add those links above to the characters, you'll need to remove them from this section. Also remove the actor links where you've previously mentioned them in the article body (lead doesn't count for this)
  • "Ian Whyte, who portrayed the giant Wun Wun also made his last appearance as the character in the show." - needs to have a comma after "Wun Wun", and was it his last appearance as the character, or simply his last appearance?
  • Battle of Winterfell: In the second sentence, replace "Sapochnik" simply with "He" to prevent you saying the surname twice in succession.
  • Link Entertainment Weekly
  • Critical reception: "with one critic describing it as a "masterpiece."" - since this isn't the lead, you should say who said it.
  • While I think you're right to include the perfect IMDB score since there is a third party source, I think you should remove everything else that is only linked to IMDB itself. There's a helpful essay here WP:CITEIMDB, and some straight to the point guidance here: WP:RS/IMDB. But on a personal note, you'll be forever changing the article when the ratings change slightly over time. You can simply make it clear that it only had that perfect score immediately following the broadcast.
  • Cite #37: Variety needs to be in italics - for the other variety citations, you don't need to say "(magazine)" each time. I'd just pipe the link to remove it entirely in each case. Same with the Metro #19 - just pipe the link to remove "(British newspaper)".
  • Images licences are mostly good. I have my doubts about the usefulness of the fair use image in the infobox. The other comparison fair use image is spot on as it massively helps the understanding of the text. But the infobox image feels like simply illustration to me and therefore fails the fair use criteria. I think that there are other shots which could meet the fair use requirements and fit fine in the infobox though - something of the phalanx for example would be perfectly fine. Alternatively if you wanted a Daenerys shot, then the CGI of her riding the dragon with an explanation that it was a composite shot would also need the criteria easily.

That's everything, mostly just tweaks here and there. Placing on hold for the seven days. Ping me back when you're done looking at those, or if you need more time. Miyagawa (talk) 14:05, 19 August 2016 (UTC)Reply

@Miyagawa: I do not know how to add a "note". AffeL (talk) 17:40, 19 August 2016
Just went to do it, and you've done it already. :) Miyagawa (talk) 16:12, 19 August 2016 (UTC)Reply
@Miyagawa: Okey. I did it, Done. Only thing left is the infobox picture. I don't know what picture to use instead. I think that one is fine as it is. AffeL (talk) 18:10, 19 August 2016
@AffeL: The problem is that the image is currently used for illustration only and not to help explain an element of the text. So it doesn't meet the fair use criteria. GA status requires that all fair use image rationals are valid. If you want, you can simply remove the image for the time being, which would then green light the GA status, and then when you find an image which qualifies, you can add it afterwards. @Miyagawa: I have changed the pic. But for some reason it is still showing the previous pic. Maybe it takes time to load or something. AffeL (talk) 20:08, 19 August 2016
That's great - happy to promote now. It's a caching issue that I sometimes get when I swap images out too. Miyagawa (talk) 18:12, 19 August 2016 (UTC)Reply
