editThis page should not be speedily deleted because... (there in no balochistan or area name is afganistan) --202.147.173.53 (talk) 19:51, 4 February 2020 (UTC)
Why the map of Nimroz should not be included
editThe map of Nimroz should not be included in this article because Nimroz is not the only province in Balochistan. Baloch also live in Helemand and Kandahar province. I'm not opposed to having the current map replaced with one that shows Balochistan in Afghanistan, but the Nimroz one is not right. --Danre98(talk^contribs) 01:23, 30 July 2020 (UTC)

editThis page is not unambiguously promotional, because... (No area or provinces name is Balochistan in Afghanistan ) --Samigoraya (talk) 22:21, 30 July 2020 (UTC)
Agreed, this page should be deleted. There is no such province by the name of "Baluchistan" in Afghanistan. Can any other users chime on this? 15:43, 8 August 2020 (UTC)Akmal94 (talk)
- Akmal94, Balochistan is an ethnic region (similar to Kurdistan) and the article is supposed to talk about the part of ethnic Balochistan in Afghanistan. It should not be considered a province. --Danre98(talk^contribs) 16:27, 8 August 2020 (UTC)
There is no such region called "Baluchistan" and nobody refers to it as such in Afghanistan either. The article is implying that Baloch regions also lie in southern parts of Afghanistan when its not true. The only province where Baluch are present are in Nimroz but even over there, they are a plurality and most of the people are ethnic Brauhis not even Baloch. Pashtuns are the most dominant ethnic group in Southern Afghanistan anyways. Akmal94 (talk) 23:33, 8 August 2020 (UTC)
- Akmal94,
There is no such region called "Baluchistan"
Please see the bottom of this message.and nobody refers to it as such in Afghanistan either.
Does not matter if other sources talk about Balochistan. The article is implying that Baloch regions also lie in southern parts of Afghanistan when its not true.
Check the sources in the article (you may have to go to web.archive.org for some sources) Part of Balochistan is located in southern Afghanistan. The only province where Baluch are present are in Nimroz
Please check the article sources. Some are in Helmand and Kandahar.but even over there, they are a plurality and most of the people are ethnic Brauhis not even Baloch.
Do you have any sources that say that?Pashtuns are the most dominant ethnic group in Southern Afghanistan anyways.
Do you have sources that say that? In the article, we have 7 sources. 7 sources that talk about a region called Balochistan. Regardless of your own opinion, sources say that Balochistan exists and that some of it is located in Afghanistan. --Danre98(talk^contribs) 00:31, 9 August 2020 (UTC)
Its funny that you have not provided one source for your claims at all yet you ask me, and did you read the article on Nimroz? Its states that most of the population is Brauhi speaking, last time i checked, the Baloch and Brahui are different groups. Southern Afghanistan being ethnically Pashtun is no surprise here so i don't know why you would need a source for the obvious, even the "Pashtunistan" article mentions Kandahar, Helmand and Farah being the traditional Pashtun homeland. I do have sources for what i am saying however, this is not about me, this is about this article and its purpose of existing because quite frankly i don't it should because it lacks sources for a region being called "Baluchistan" in Afghanistan. Neither the government of Afghanistan nor the Afghan people call it as such. Therefore i think it should be deleted but a consensus needs to go through first. Akmal94 (talk) 20:26, 9 August 2020 (UTC)
- Akmal94, I don't need to list sources when there are literally 7 in the article. Listing them here would be a waste of time. You are the one without sources. --Danre98(talk^contribs) 21:58, 9 August 2020 (UTC)
- Akmal94, in addition, the majority population of Nimroz is irrelevant because not all of Nimroz is part of Balochistan. See the map in this article. Danre98(talk^contribs) 22:01, 9 August 2020 (UTC)
- Thirdly, just because southern Afghanistan is mostly Pashtun does not mean everyone in southern Afghanistan is Pashtun.
- Fourth, the article does not lack sources. (although it certainly could use some more). It has 7. Danre98(talk^contribs) 22:03, 9 August 2020 (UTC)
- Fifth, the main Balochistan article has over 30 sources. It most definitely exists. Danre98(talk^contribs) 22:07, 9 August 2020 (UTC)
- Lastly, send this to WP:AfD if you think this merits deletion. Danre98(talk^contribs) 22:09, 9 August 2020 (UTC)
Learn to keep your comments one at a time, adding additional replies is unnecessary. The "sources" you mention are either half dead or completely irrelevant or don't even say that Baluchistan also lies in Afghanistan. There is also a link from Amazon to a book but doesn't even cite the book itself, so tell me how this can pass for a source? This article has been terrible for years and just now it gets some leverage because some people have called it out for deletion. 3 other people have called for a deletion as well so i am waiting for more users to chime on so we can decide. If you have a reliable source that says there is a "Baluchistan" specifically in Afghanistan as well, then we can use it, otherwise don't post walls of text that are irrelevant. Akmal94 (talk) 00:11, 10 August 2020 (UTC)
- Danre98's last point is the most relevant. Nothing that happens on this talk page will result in deletion of this article, so start a discussion at AfD if you think that the available sources are inadequate. Phil Bridger (talk) 07:50, 10 August 2020 (UTC)
- Akmal94, please give me some slack, I'm learning. Personally I would delete on the grounds that this looks like an unnecessary sub-article of Balochistan. I'd prefer to merge the content to the main Balochistan article and change this to a redirect for attribution, but I don't see anything worth keeping that isn't already part of the Balochistan article. (although if I can find enough good sources, I'd keep) Danre98(talk^contribs) 14:20, 10 August 2020 (UTC)
I figured you were new here and still learning the ropes. As for your suggestion, its a fair point that it would be better to merge this article with the Baluchistan article because the sources here are really not up to Wikipedia standards and don't pass WP:BESTSOURCES, if not then i still propose deleting it since sources are lacking. Akmal94 (talk) 23:24, 10 August 2020 (UTC)
- Akmal94, I don't think we should delete as this page got just over 1000 views in the last 30 days, which is ridiculous when Balochistan is only in a piece of 3 provinces in Afghanistan, IMO. I think the article should be blanked and redirected to Balochistan as no useful information for the reader can be presented here that isn't already over there. editThis page is not unambiguously promotional, because... Perhaps I am missing something but it looks like a normal geography stub? I am not sure what the nominator thinks it is promoting? Provinces in Afghanistan are notable. I am surprised there isn't already an article --Elinruby (talk) 23:14, 30 July 2020 (UTC)

editThis page is not unambiguously promotional, because it is a normal stub. It doesn't say stuff like how great the Baloch are, for example. It just talks about the Baloch area in Afghanistan normally --Danre98(talk^contribs) 01:16, 31 July 2020 (UTC)
