Merge proposal
editThe following discussion is closed and will soon be archived: outcome was: merged/redirected
I propose to merge the content currently at Lady's Well, Danesfort to this Ballyda article (in its own section). And to redirect that title to that section. I propose this because, in addition to the question about coverage of the holy well as a topic in its own right, each article:
- is short - both on the townland and on the well. And likely will remain so. Given the limited refs available to expand either. Meeting WP:MERGEREASON#3.
- has notability issues - the well in particular being covered mainly in directory-style entries and (somewhat questionable) folklore database entries. Per WP:MERGEREASON#4.
- requires context from the other - each referring to and requiring significant context from the other. Both in terms of their "place in the world" and generally. WP:MERGEREASON#5.
Happy to hear other thoughts. But, in honesty, I've struggled to expand/support either article. And a single "combined" article would likely stand as a much stronger/fuller/complete "study" of both topics..... Guliolopez (talk) 19:46, 29 September 2024 (UTC)
- Bump. Any input on the above? If there are no other thoughts or concerns, I'll likely go ahead with the merge/redirect soon.... Guliolopez (talk) 12:15, 8 October 2024 (UTC)
- Resolved. OK. I've completed the merge and redirect. Guliolopez (talk) 16:33, 27 October 2024 (UTC)
