Actually the inspiration for his name came from the cartoon series 'Sam and the magic ball' because the main character Sam was drawn very badly!

I thought it had been taken from a cartoon in Select Magazine called "Badly Drawn Boy"

It wasn't in Viz, but I remember clearly there was definitely a character called BDB in one of the Viz copy comics in the late 80s/early 90s. Might have been Zit, or Smut, or UT, I forget which. Pollythewasp (talk) 12:30, 22 April 2014 (UTC)

Songs with links

While Badly Drawn Boy's good and all that, do all his songs deserve the links they have, all currently inactive but I presume with the idea that someone's going to actually creates pages for each single - I don't think any have been a big enough hit to be culturally important - unlike his albums, which have all been culturally important. I do remember that his year of birth used to be known as 1970; I don't know if this is a proper reference, but the NPG here : http://www.npg.org.uk/collections/search/portrait/mw64655/Badly-Drawn-Boy-Damon-Gough still says 1970. Ab930 (talk) 22:49, 7 February 2014 (UTC)

The change from 1970 to 1969 was made on 20 August 2006 19:45; no reference to ground this, but there was no reference for 1970 either. Might be worth to look at this again. Ab930 (talk) 22:58, 7 February 2014 (UTC)

Bolton or Dunstable

Someone has today changed BDB's city of origin from Dunstable to Bolton. Not being an expert, I don't know which is correct - but have made the b in Bolton a capital. Please note that it wasn't my original change, and if it's wrong then feel free to revert. Willnz0 19:33, 5 October 2006 (UTC)
