Literary hoaxes
editI've asked the author of the new hoax note to provide a reference that can be checked.--Perry Middlemiss (talk) 23:02, 20 March 2009 (UTC)

Proposed reorganisation
editHi, I’m a writer/biographer, my specialty is Australian Women's Literature where I have published and lectured a good deal.
Currently the organisation of this article is quite haphazard. I'm proposing to run it past a number of colleagues in the field - but my first reaction is
- Three generations from 1900 to 1995 are virtually omitted - The whole Left, which was more than half of Australian literature until 1980, is barely there
There are many important omissions and a lot of almost unknown authors are included
As a first cut, I'm suggesting an organisation something along the lines of
A. Chronological
- colonial post colonial 1789-1900 - pre-war 1900-1945 - post-war 1945- 1995 - millennial 1995-present
B. Genre
- Novels - Poetry - Plays - Memoir (Facey, Hewett etc) - History (Manning Clark, Geoffrey Blainey, history wars etc) - Popular (MCCullough, Morrissey, Kathy Lette, romantic etc) - SF/Fantasy/Crime etc
C. Identity - Forging an Australian identity - Left and Conservative literature - Women writers - Indigenous writers - Ethnic identity - Hoaxes forgeries and misunderstanding
I'm willing to make a start if there are no objections. I don’t anticipate changing existing text much, it’s more a case of reorganisation and a couple of new sections, which I will do one at a time to allow for edits etc Evadeluge (talk) 03:41, 16 April 2022 (UTC)
- Sounds excellent. Do include children's lit too. Robina Fox (talk) 06:46, 16 April 2022 (UTC)
