The concept of "favorites" to a competition like this is highly subjective and opinion based.
Unless a specific credible source is cited "According to ... the favorites were", I believe that part should be removed.
Even after that, if Salazar was a favorite because he won NY Marathon and Boston 2 years before, shouldn't the previous years winners Rod Dixon be also on the list?
