Fair use rationale for Image:ATNlogo.PNG

edit

Image:ATNlogo.PNG is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 17:11, 31 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Controversy

edit

Should we mentioned the boycott of ATN by 'arrivasucks.com'?

It was a forum setup by disgruntled passengers around 2001, annoyed at the under-performance of the company, but ended in 2004 for the following reasons:

1. ATN's service started to improve 2. Cost of Site Management 3. Conducters used it as their 'playground' [citation probably needed - but as described by the site's owner] 4. The site owner, Andrew Everingham, who had appeared on BBC's Look North, came home drunk and woke up at Neville Hill depot, Leeds - where the train crew, not realising who he was sent him home in a taxi - even paying his fayre using company money. True Story.

It would be nice if some research was conducted on this, as it was one of the gems of the franchise, with tails of the then new 333 class trains once departing Bradford Forster Square without the guard, after the driver confused the controls...not sure how it bypassed the emergency brake; [citation DEFINATELY needed here]

(I'm still looking for other articles - if you google search there are a few articles, but alas there is little information about the site)

Northern Sprit

edit

I have reintroduced a section regarding Northern Spirit and I have included this in the history section as I think this is the correct place within the article as the previous references to Northern Spirit were throughout the article and didn't flow as well. Within the 'History' section, the references to Northern Spirit are more concise which allows the remainder of the article to focus on Arriva Trains Northern.
