'He has also shown how the materials and techniques developed for technologies can be used for investigating the nature of reality in the context of quantum theory.'

edit

Amy reference for this? Could anyone provide a little explanatory detail?

'Investigating the nature of reality in the context of quantum theory' is the sort of thing that gets written about fringe 'scientists'. Is this an description of Professor Briggs's recent work that he would agree with?

'In the context of' is vague and clumsy. Could anyone who knows this area rewrite this part of the sentence?

I do not think the "multiple issues" objections are justified.
