Merge

edit

It wouldn't make sense to merge this article with Wonkette, since Ms. Cox has now (just recently) retired from blogging, and the website is being handed over to new editors. The preceding unsigned comment was added by Spikyrat (talk • contribs) .

That was the conclusion reached in Talk:Wonkette. --waffle iron 23:55, 22 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

So mote it be, then. Let's let these two articles stand separately. The preceding unsigned comment was added by Spikyrat (talk • contribs) .

Isn't this a bit on the self-promo side? Is putting a writer's ISBN number in a bio too much for even the young and self-referential? Sometimes it seems to reach a point where a one-time media personality becomes simply an artifact.—Preceding unsigned comment added by 141.149.50.66 (talkcontribs) 23:56, September 28, 2006

I agree that the ISBN number should not be in the body of the text, as it is not being cited. For purchase purposes, it's easy to find anyway. Now if there was a separate "Books" section, that would be different. -- Avi 17:46, 17 October 2007 (UTC)Reply
Then make that separate section, don't delete the information. Writing that she has a book, but not giving the ISBN is like writing that she has a web site but not giving the URL. "It's easy to find anyway" is a justification for not writing any information in the article at all, just saying "oh, search on the web for it". --AnonEMouse (squeak) 17:54, 17 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

I don't think it needs fixing. She has one novel, making a separate section listing all her books seems unnecessary to me. I like it the way it is. --AnonEMouse (squeak) 18:07, 17 October 2007 (UTC)Reply
Even better now. Full data including ISBN, OCLC, and LCCN in reference section with no prose interruption. -- Avi 18:09, 17 October 2007 (UTC)Reply
Good solution, thank you! --AnonEMouse (squeak) 16:07, 18 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

Last Sentence

edit

The last sentence "Cox is young, and has no academic, diplomatic, governmental, or military experience" is highly inacurate. If there are no objections, I'm removing it. --MathewBrooks 15:12, 21 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

You could have just removed the "young" part. 76.229.223.171 06:37, 25 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

And you could have signed your post. --MathewBrooks 17:21, 17 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

Graduate education?

Can anyone confirm that AMC graduated from the American Studies program at UC Berkeley? Siweiluozi (talk) 23:51, 5 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Career

edit

In a video at Americablog posted 9/1/08, John Aravosis claimed Ana Marie now worked at Congressional Quarterly. Peacearena (talk) —Preceding undated comment was added at 15:59, 1 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

The Career section lists the start dates of a number of her positions with several media outlets but doesn't mention that most of those positions have ended or at least are dormant. For example, as of 9/29/18, her last contributions for the Daily Beast was 1/31/16, for GQ 2/15/11, and The Guardian 8/15/14. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Dlxmarks (talkcontribs) 04:01, 30 September 2018 (UTC)Reply

Benadryl

edit

Benadryl would not save your life from an allergic reaction. It would get rid of the hives and itching, but not help your airway. You need Epinephrine or a steroid for that.Lewitmann (talk) 22:09, 11 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

Epinephrine would definitely be the first choice, but speaking from first hand experience, Benadryl will do in a pinch... But being this is Wikipedia where everyone wants references: [1]. I quote:
Other medicines used to treat anaphylaxis include the following:
* antihistamines, such as diphenhydramine (i.e., Benadryl)
